College student Kanzaki Nao, known for her honesty, receives 100 million yen and an invitation to join the "Liar Game", where players deceive each other for the prize money: losers end up in debt. Her first opponent is her former teacher Fujisawa Kazuo, who tricks her out of her money. With no help from the police, she turns to recently released swindler Akiyama Shinichi for assistance. Kanazaki Nao, known as ?too honest for her own good? receives 100 million yen and a letter that she is now to participate in this Liar Game where you either win that amount or get in a debt. She is fooled by a teacher she believed in and sees her last resource in the genious swindler Akiyama who, in exchange for part of the money, agrees to help her. Together they drive the teacher, Fujisawa, crazy and found out where the money is.

After the rules of the new stage are explained, Akiyama comes up with a plan to win. They must assemble a team of 8 players. But they can?t invite any women because among the women there should be a traitor who stole money from a previous participant. They gather the team, according to plan, 4 of them lose and 4 of them win. But Akiyama notices something strange.

In the next stage they go according to plan. Nao and Akiyama change their answers and thus Akiyama and Tsukuhara pass to the next round as well. In the final round only 4 people are left. When only their votes are left, Nao who is watching is happy thinking she won, but Tsukuhara reveals he is a traitor and that he assembled two more teams. But Akiyama had seen through his plan and, after making a draw, is ready for his new strategy.

After Akiyama assuring he is going to win, the others try to come up with some strategy to win back, even if it means teaming up. But Akiyama had planned together with No.15 in advance and finds a way to win. It means he has to go to the next round, which he plans to do so he can find who is behind the game. Nao is called to the Resurrection game so she can earn the money to help Akiyama give up from the game.

In the Resurrection game, Fukunaga buys the votes so that he can win the game and in the other hand Nao will lose, after making her believe he would vote for her. After 3 rounds she finds the truth and realizes she will lose no matter what. Out of the game, Akiyama is told is plan 3 years ago failed.

Falling at the bottom with zero votes, Nao is tricked into playing a card game with Fukunaga. Making her believe she has a 50% chance of winning, she loses. However, Akiyama comes to the rescue has one of her personal belongings and not only manages to deceive Fukunaga but all the other players, turning the tables around. Now, with 80 votes, Nao controls the game.
