Having finally sold her TV series script, aspiring screenwriter Chen Xiao Qian soon falls under the scrutiny of the male lead, who refuses to act out the role. Vowing to make her script successful, she starts re-writing. While napping, she is transported into her own story, becoming the Third Princess Chen Qian Qian, a side character. Armed with the knowledge of her own script in which her character is soon to be killed in the third episode by Prince Han Shuo, the male lead, Xiao Qian is determined to stay alive and find her way back home. Episode 1: The Romance of Tiger and Rose Episode 1
Rookie screenwriter Xiao Chen faces struggles in her work. She's criticized as a feminist. Due to the stress, Xiao Chen has fallen sick, and begins to dream of the story she wrote. Young Master of Huayuan City Han Shuo wants to get married with the Second Princess Chen Chu Chu to get hold of the Dragon Bone, so that he can cure his heart disease. However, the Third Princess Chen Qian Qian appears and spoils his plan. Qian Qian declares Han Shuo to be her husband instead. Han Shuo plans to poison Qian Qian on the wedding night in order to be with Chu Chu. Qian Qian drinks the poison but she wakes up the next morning without any harm. (Source: Viu)
Episode 2: The Romance of Tiger and Rose Episode 2
Qian Qian realizes Han Shuo will soon be executed. She then rushes to her mother and claims that she is pregnant. Han Shuo is therefore freed. Han Shuo feels humiliated and plans to take revenge again. Qian Qian's mother soon finds out that Qian Qian's pregnancy was a lie. Qian Qian has no choice but to claim that she's fallen in love with Han Shuo. At the same time, she tries to set up Han Shuo and Chu Chu. But her plan fails as Chu Chu ends up fighting with Han Shuo. Episode 3: The Romance of Tiger and Rose Episode 3
Han Shuo plans to kill Qian Qian, becomes close with Chu Chu, then take the Dragon Bone. Qian Qian knows how ruthless Han Shuo can be, so she comes up with her own plan. It turns out that Han Shuo knows what she has been planning and Chu Chu is reprimanded by her mother for failing to catch the spy. Episode 4: The Romance of Tiger and Rose Episode 4
Han Shuo sends all the musicians to Qian Qian. One of the musicians is actually his spy, and in this way, Han Shuo can easily communicate with the spy. People are mad at Qian Qian for destorying the Dragon Bone. The believe that her action brings the city misfortune, and demands Qian Qian to sacrifice. Qian Qian comes to Chu Chu to ask for help. The Crown Princess Selection is near. Pei Heng and Han Shuo both try to help Qian Qian. But as the two dislike each other, Qian Qian feels troubled and escapes. Qian Qian complains in front of Han Shuo, claiming that she has no interest nor ability to become the Crown Princess. With the help from Lin Qi and Han Shuo, Qian Qian gets to the final round. During the fight with Lin Qi, Qian Qian does not claim her defeat although she's been badly beaten. Even with Pei Heng hitting the gong to announce defeat, Qian Qian still refuses to accept it. Yuan Yuan is desperately worried. Qian Qian is upset with the result of the Crown Princess Selection exams. She does not want to be the winner at all. She pleas with her mother but only to be ignored. Qian Qian captures Meng Guo but lets him off again and again. Because of Zi Ying's words, Han Shuo is angry and leaves Qian Qian alone in the camp. Qian Qian is then captured by Meng Guo. Although Qian Qian and Han Shuo have finally become closer. the two become enemies again when it comes to problems regarding the Ruler, Chu Chu and Huayuan City. Chu Chu wants the Ruler seal form her mother but is rejected. She realizes that she has been used by Han Shuo all the time. Han Shuo's army has surrounded Huayuan City. Pei Heng is upset over the death of Qian Qian and wants to commit suicide. Qian Qian immediately climbs out of the coffin, and confesses that she pretends to be dead in order to save Han Shuo.
