In the year 2196 technology has advanced so much that what was once considered extraordinary, such as immortality, has now become ordinary. Dissatisfied with her life, Chun Hua agrees to take part in a most unusual adventure, giving up her immortality for a chance to experience true love. After waking up in a completely different world and having been told that her true love will be the first person she sees when she first opens her eyes in this new world, Chun Hua believes that Xiao Bai is her destiny. Episode 1: Love Better Than Immortality Episode 1
A young woman travels to a different world to meet her Mr. Right. In this world, she meets two men: One is the hero Xiao Bai who is the leader of the right track while the other is the anathema Shangguan Qiu Yue, Master of the opposite track.
Episode 2: Love Better Than Immortality Episode 2
Qiu Yue convinces Chun Hua that he is her older brother and that she is on a mission to steal the Xin Fa from Xiao Bai's sect, not knowing what it is. He knows her true identity is Hua Xiao Lei, who was betrothed to Xiao Bai before she lost her memory. Chun Hua begins to question her sibling relationship with Qin Yue and sees that Xiao Bai's righteousness is inflexible and steadfast. Xiao Bai and Liu Feng determine that Chun Hua has really lost her memory and is not disguising herself for ulterior motives. Chun Hua accidentally uses Xiao Bai's private bath, and he inadvertently sees a scar on her shoulder, similar to the injury Hua Xiao Lei sustained when there were children. He begins to wonder if she could be his betrothed and slowly starts warming up to her. Qiu Yue's actions continue to call into question whether he and Chun Hua are really blood-related. Xiao Bai puts Chun Hua in Xiao Lei's old room to see if it will resurface her old memories. He invites her to the annual poem meeting and begins treating her well, which arouses Qiu Yue's jealousy and suspicions. Qiu Yue gives Chun Hua 3 days to find the sect's Xin Fa, or he will kill her, but try as she might, she's not able to locate it. Qiu Yue takes over the inn where the poem meeting will be held. Xiao Bai and Liu Feng discover that the Xin Fa from the other sects is being widely distributed, which could cause their downfall. They decide to purchase all the books to stop the distribution. Chun Hua's plans to stay in Xiao Bai's room are foiled by Qiu Yue, so he allows her additional days to steal the Xin Fa from Xiao Bai's sect. During the poetry meeting, Chun Hua gets overly excited and inadvertently recites a poem that mentions Qiu Yue, which riles up the martial arts experts attending the meeting. Feng Cai Cai follows her father's order to take Chun Hua to the forest but does not realize her father is giving Chun Hua to Fu Lou because he is being blackmailed. She follows them but is captured by Fu Lou, who takes them both to his residence. Qiu Yue breaks in to make sure Chun Hua is okay but does not save them. He instead tells Chun Hua to seek protection from Fu Lou's wife, who helps them escape. They try to align on the story of their disappearance before meeting back up with Xiao Bai and the others. The group sets off to Yetan City so that Xiao Bai can meet the Hua family to ask them questions about Xiao Lei. While questioning Xiao Lei's father, he inadvertently offends him by insinuating collusion with the Demon Sect. Chun Hua looks for mooncakes and encounters Qiu Yue. She explains the Lantern Festival is about families spending time together, so they make mooncakes at Qian Yue cave. Qiu Yue gives a silk pearl out of pair to Chun Hua while he keeps the other, letting her know that this binds them together. Xiao Bai reveals to Chun Hua that her true identity is Xiao Lei, causing her confusion as to her relationship with Qiu Yue. Her father no longer wants her to return because she had eloped with Qiu Yue and didn't want his sect associated with the Demon sect. Though Xiao Bai wants to honor the wedding arrangement with Xiao Lei, the Hua family breaks it off, citing reasons for Xiao Lei's safety during the fire at Feng Ming Manor, her disappearance, and memory loss. Xiao Bai leaves for Feng Ming Manor to speak with his father, while Chun Hua also leaves Hua residence in pursuit of him. With news spreading of the longevity fruit being associated with the Hua residence, all the different martial arts masters arrive to get it from Master Hua, who doesn't really know anything about it as it was Qiu Yue who started spreading the rumors. Fu Lou also arrives and reveals Qiu Yue disguised as Hua Que, who takes Xiao Le with him as he escapes. Xiao Bai goes after them while the martial arts masters wreak havoc at the Hua residence. Xiao Bai reveals the Xin Fa of his sect to Chun Hua as part of his marriage proposal. Try as she might, Chun Hua is having a hard time memorizing it. She gives half of the Xin Fa to Qiu Yue, promising to give him the other half in 3 days. To further express his affection for Chun Hua, Xiao Bai gives her his mother's jade, while Qiu Yue goads her into wearing his ice silk pearl on her other wrist. Chief Xiao kills himself after giving the Xuanbing Lotus Stone to Xiao Bai to help him master the final saber technique. Chief Li attends his funeral and reveals the history between Chief Xiao and Shangguan Hui, who saved Chiefs Li and Xiao and who happens to be from the Demon sect. Though she is innocent of evil doings, she dies at the mercy of the righteous sects trying to eradicate the demon sects. As Xiao Bai struggles with his father falling in love with Shangguan Hui, Chun Hua tells him that regardless of his father's affections, he is still upright and fighting for righteousness in the pugilist world. Xiao Bai's affection for Chun Hua grows, his saber reflecting his heart beating for her. Qiu Yue is sad and jealous that Chun Hua and Xiao Bai are becoming closer, fearing her heart will be broken, just like Shangguan Hui. Xiao Bai professes his affection to Chun Hua, who is surprised that her heartbeat is steady after hearing this though Xiao Bai's heartbeat is erratic. She looks forward to marrying him nonetheless and goes with him to Bishui city despite the protests of Leng Ning and Cai Cai. You Si invites her to see the wildflowers at Chuan Qi Gorge, but Fu Lou's men go after her since she is associated with the longevity fruit. Qiu Yue sends Chun Hua's jade bracelet and a note to Xiao Bai indicating that he can have her in exchange for his Feng Ming Saber. As Xiao Bai rushes to save Chun Hua, Liu Feng and the others stay back for the longevity fruit auction. Qiu Yue is surprised when Xiao Bai arrives to save Chun Hua. Master Shi tells the attendees that they have all met the one million liang entrance fee and since there are too many buyers, only the survivor will get the longevity fruit. A bloodbath ensues. Xiao Bai follows a trail left by Liu Feng, which leads them to a room containing Leng Ning's father. Fu Lou arrives and opens the coffin in the room. It contains the dead body of Cai Cai's father. Chief Leng blames the death of Chief Feng on Fu Lou, though he is the true murderer. Cai Cai touches her father's hand and gets poisoned. Fu Lou and Chief Leng continue their investigations on Master Shi. As Cai Cai's health continues to deteriorate, Chun Hua stays with Qiu Yue, looking for ways to get the antidote from him. She finds the hidden chamber with the poisons and tries the Three Day Drunk concoction on Qiu Yue, to allow her to get information on the antidote. Realizing that Chun Hua won't be truthful with him, Qiu Yue gives her the antidote to help Cai Cai. Leng Ning distrusts the antidote but Xiao Bai allows Chun Hua to give it to Cai Cai. Chun Hua begins to develop affection for Qiu Yue but pushes it out of her mind as her true love is meant to be Xiao Bai, according to the system. Since no one has seen the longevity fruit, the friends pitch in and create one, then look for an opportunity to destroy it in front of the martial arts leaders to stop their infatuation with it. Xiao Bai feels bad for using the wedding to assemble the martial arts masters but can't bring himself to tell Chun Hua. Qiu Yue drinks away his sadness over Chun Hua's impending marriage and has Ye Yan report all the wedding preparations to him. On the day of the wedding, Chun Hua is shocked that Xiao Bai is using their wedding as a cover for destroying the longevity fruit. Fearing that Xiao Bai has forsaken her given what Qiu Yue had said at the wedding, Chun Hua is excited when she gets a secret message informing her to be patient and wait for the opportune moment to escape. Qiu Yue has her locked up in a cave with restricted access but Master Leng has a spy planted in Qian Yue Cave who is helping to get information to Xiao Bai and Liu Feng. As Xiao Bai and Liu Feng make plans to rescue Chun Hua, Qiu Yue catches on that there is an informant in Qian Yue cave. The messages become fewer as days pass when finally, Chun Hua receives a note to meet Xiao Bai. When she arrives, however, the informant is not there to rescue her. Qiu Yue arrives to save Chun Yue and reveals to her that not only was her food being poisoned, but there is another message for the martial arts clan to camp out at Qian Yue cave entrance to take the longevity fruit in her possession. Chun Hua feels suffocated with Qiu Yue restricting her in order to keep her safe. She convinces him to let her go, leaving the ice silk pearl and momentarily feeling sadness when he has her escorted to Feng Ming manor. She confronts Xiao Bai, telling him that the spy was trying to kill her, but he denies that he gave that command and instead was working on rescuing her. Chun Hua pretends to be held captive by Fu Lou so she can be used to trade in exchange for the longevity fruit. However, Chief Leng kidnaps You Si to be held hostage by Feng Ming manor. Leng Ning is shocked that her father would stoop to the level of kidnapping an ill person. Chun Hua convinces Fu Lou to use her so that he can get his wife back. Chun Hua probes Qiu Yue to understand his motivations, but he tells her his purpose is to protect her. She pleads with Xiao Bai to keep You Si and Fu Lou safe, given the trust they have placed in him, but his goals lie with his father's teachings. You Si reveals the truth about Chief Yuan abusing her and retaliating against Fu Lou for no reason, which drives Fu Lou to kill Chief Yuan to protect You Si. She challenges Xiao Bai to place righteousness above her because of her past collusion with Qiu Yue. As Chun Hua departs Qian Yue cave, she suddenly exhibits pain in her chest, and a pink flower appears in her palm. Unbeknownst to her, she was given the 100 flower tribulation poison by Gu Wan that would result in her eventual death.
