Kim Hang Ah is a legendary top female instructor working for North Korea’s elite special forces unit. With stamina, training tactics, and strength in all areas, she is the perfect female soldier; however, she has never fallen in love. Pure and candid, Kim Hang Ah’s goal is to fall in love and get married. Lee Jae Ha is the prince of South Korea’s monarchy. His personality reflects his royal position, with refined humor and a handsome face; however, he has little interest in pursuing politics. Though he seems perfect on the outside, Lee Jae Ha is actually very materialistic and blunt about his own desires. One day, calamity strikes the South Korean royal family, and Lee Jae Ha finds himself on the throne in the midst of negotiations between North and South Korea for ending the war. As part of the negotiation process, he and Kim Hang Ah find themselves betrothed to each other. Can these two learn to settle their differences for the sake of Korea?
Episode 1: King2Hearts Episode 1
The story begins in 1989. The palace is full of activity in the middle of the night, luckily, it's not a war which started as was feared; it is another important historical event which took place. During an incident which takes place in the Crown Prince's school, we get a glimpse of our antagonist. This short stay in the past also shows us the difference in personalities and ideals between the future king (Lee Jae Gang) and his younger brother, the prince, who is the main lead. After the time jump, we see the boys are all grown up and Lee Jae Ha, is still the same (personality-wise), if not worse. We are also told about the King's dream of unity between the two Koreas, which is the agenda behind their collaboration in the WOC competition. The episode also shows Kim Hang Ah (Ha Ji Won), as a strong and deathly North Korean soldier, who has a girly softer side. The main leads meet. The episode ends with a powerful scene...
Episode 2: King2Hearts Episode 2
Hang Ah and Jae Ha are still sharing a room. A few comedic situations arise from this arrangement. It's decided the team will train two weeks in N. Korea and the other two weeks in S. Korea until the competition takes place. Hang Ah "convinces" Jae Ha to let her become his trainer. After an incident with one of her best friends, Hang Ah bares her soul to Jae Ha and it comes back to bite her.
Episode 3: King2Hearts Episode 3
Hang Ah gives Jae Ha the silent treatment. She confesses her reasons for joining the team weren't honest. Jae Ha tells Hang Ah what the ideal woman for a man is like. Bombs are attached to exercising equipment brought into the North Korean training facilities. The King and Kim Bong Goo meet. UN comes to investigate the situation. Kang Suk further explores his new found love for K-pop girl groups. There's marriage talk and first stirrings of jealousy appear.
Episode 4: King2Hearts Episode 4
Lee Jae continues to create conflicts, in two different situations, because of his bad, or rather, his lack of judgement. He tries to remedy the situation by taking on a mission by himself. Hang Ah joins him. Bonds start to form.
Episode 5: King2Hearts Episode 5
The training concludes. Lee Jae Ha goes back to S. Korea, but not without one last prank. There's a news report that leaks about Kim Hang Ah being a bridal candidate and it becomes a big issue. Hoping to remedy it, Jae Ha makes a speech announcing his love for Hang Ah. In the end, she's sent to S. Korea, both of them not wanting to marry each other, but feelings start to arise.
Episode 6: King2Hearts Episode 6
Lee Jae Shin, the sister, is introduced. Lee Jae Ha's seduction plan backfires and he really hurts Kim Hang Ah. As he does this he begins to come to terms with the fact that he really does have feelings for her. The engagement is on, it's off, then it's back on. Kim Hang Ah decides she wants to get revenge on Jae Ha.
Episode 7: King2Hearts Episode 7
After being caught like 2 teenagers kissing, Hang Ah and Jae Ha are confronted by the king and her father respectively. As a result, the engagement is officially announced. King and Queen decide to go on a short vacation in a secret location. Meanwhile, Hang Ah is taught the first basics of the South Korean customs and is frustrated by it all. The Princess decides to pay a surprise visit to his brother the king and his wife, and stumbles upon John Mayer's henchmen. Tragedy ensues.
Episode 8: King2Hearts Episode 8
With the sudden passing of the king, Jae-ha finds himself the country's sovereign and juggling all the royal duties. Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Eun realizes that the death might not have been an accident.
Episode 9: King2Hearts Episode 9
Evidence of an attack is found near the place where the king and queen died, and North Korea appears to be the only suspect. Against the will of Jae Ha, Hang Ah is subjected to a public hearing. Feeling lonelier by the hour, Hang Ah speaks bitter words and Jae Ha tells her to go back to the North.
Episode 10: King2Hearts Episode 10
Hang Ah goes back to the North and the engagement is called off. The Queen Mother scolds her son for the way he treated Hang Ah and Jae Ha regrets his hasty decision to send her away. Jae Ha discovers the password to his brother's diary and finds out more about Club M. He summons John Meyer and informs him he knows of Club M being behind the attack at the WOC training camp. Hang Ah is in pain. She's rushed to the hospital and the reason is soon announced on tv.
Episode 11: King2Hearts Episode 11
News of Hang-ah's miscarriage snaps Jae-ha out of his stupor and into action. Meanwhile, John Mayer has something destructive planned for Jae-ha.
Episode 12: King2Hearts Episode 12
HangAh gets the hand made cosmetics labeled "Sorry","Thank You" and "I Love You". She calls the WOC team and they launch the 'save my man' operation. JaeHa and the delegation are attacked and he's taken hostage, when he sees the video sent by BongGu he's terrified but laughs at BG making him go more crazy. WOC team saves the day. JaeHa officially confesses to HangAh and they head to SK. She is warmly welcomed by the queen. JaeHa shares with her all the info on Club M.
Episode 13: King2Hearts Episode 13
BongGu opens the box and there is usb with video of JaeHa and his girlfriend having chat. The girl calls him childish and disgusting and then is killed by him. JaeHa announces that he himself and HangAh are going to participate in WOC. JaeShin is to be left as the Queen for the month to which resists but then complies and asks ShiKyung to stay with her to which he agrees. JaeHa and HangAh go to WOC quarters in Japan and in the draw of opponents US is chosen as Korea's opponent.
Episode 14: King2Hearts Episode 14
Si-kyeong detains Bon-bon at the royal palace but finds it hard to pin her down. Meanwhile, Jae-ha and Hang-ah find themselves in trouble with Kang-seok gets into a scuffle with the US team.
Episode 15: King2Hearts Episode 15
Up against the formidable US team in the WOC, the Korean united team decides to take drastic measures to win the first round.
Episode 16: King2Hearts Episode 16
The engagement party goes off without a hitch, and Hang-ah joins the queen mother in her volunteer work to adjust to life as a royal. Meanwhile, Jae-ha receives a mysterious email from Club M.
Episode 17: King2Hearts Episode 17
Hang A and the queen mother are held captive in China. They escape, but in order to save the queen Hang A stays behind and is chased by the enemy. A rescue team from Korea is prohibited to enter China. Shi Kyeong finds out the truth about his father's treason and is devastated. Jae Shin decides to undergo hypnosis to remember what happened the day the king was killed. The memory is a horrible one.
Episode 18: King2Hearts Episode 18
Eun Shi Kyung and Lee Jae Ha devise a plan so they can bring John Mayer to justice for his crimes against humanity.
Episode 19: King2Hearts Episode 19
John Mayer is captured at the expense of a beloved soldier. The victory is short lived as he uses his influence to assemble a team of lawyers to aid in his release. The atmosphere of war is palpable as the United States, North Korea and South Korea prepare for combat.
Episode 20: King2Hearts Episode 20
Lee Jae Ha and Hang Ah decide to get married to promote unification between the North and South in order to prevent the war and John Mayer is prosecuted for crimes against humanity.
