Jo Jae Hee is a man in his 40s who is very stubborn and hasn't gotten married yet. His personality is so unbearable that women don't find him attractable nor a good candidate for marriage. However, Jae Hee, is perfect in everything that he does. His life will be surrounded by three different women. Jang Moon Jung is a doctor that he meets one day, Jung Yoo Jin is his neighbor whom he meets due to a disturbance, and Yoon Ki Ran is his colleague at work.
Episode 1: The Man Who Can't Get Married Episode 1
Jo Jae Hee is a forty-year-old bachelor who lives on his own. Jung Yu Jin, who graduated from an ivy league and has a freeloader boyfriend, decides to move into her relative’s house with her dog, Sanggu and becomes Jae Hee’s neighbour. One day, Jae Hee falls sick and asks for Yu Jin’s help to send him to the ST Hospital. In the absence of Jae Hee’s brother-in-law, Jang Mun Jung, a female doctor, takes over the responsibility to treat Jae Hee. But Jae Hee is too embarrassed and tries to run away. Later on a separate occasion, Yu Jin drowns herself in alcohol after breaking up with the freeloader boyfriend. It eventually led to her getting alcohol poisoning. While taking Yu Jin to the hospital, Jae Hee’s haemorrhoid recurred and this time, Mun Jung forcibly examines Jae Hee despite his objections. (Source: Viu)
Episode 2: The Man Who Can't Get Married Episode 2
After recovering from his illness, Jae Hee visits his sister for dinner. During dinner, Jae Hee’s mother urges him to get married. Meanwhile, Hyun Kyu invites Yu Jin for a date at high-schoolers’ favourite restaurant and uses a discount voucher for the meal. Yu Jin whines about it to her friend but is overheard by Jae Hee, who breaks it to Hyun Kyu. Hyun Kyu is furious about it and decides to reason with Yu Jin. Jae Hee injures his arm at the construction site so Hyun Ku has to send him home. Both of them bump into Yu Jin on their way. Episode 3: The Man Who Can't Get Married Episode 3
Upon getting the positive result of her health examination, Mun Jung happily asks Yu Jin out for dinner, but Yu Jin is too busy with work. Mun Jung subsequently returns to the hospital, where her father forces her to get married. Meanwhile, Jae Hee’s client is unable to realise his design due to budget constraints. Although he is upset about it, but he still assists the client to source for enhanced equipments. Episode 4: The Man Who Can't Get Married Episode 4
Mun Jung expresses that she wishes to lend money to Yu Jin. She also advises Yu Jin to take notice of Jae Hee’s kindness, although he does not exhibit it visibly. Jae Hee has to work overtime during the weekend but Hyun Kyu decides to take leave. Meanwhile, Jae Hee’s mother requests him to thank Mun Jung for the gift she sent. However, when Jae Hee meets her, he vaguely invites her to Billion Building, the perfect spot to watch fireworks. Mun Jung turns him down as she was planning to hang out with Yu Jin. Episode 5: The Man Who Can't Get Married Episode 5
Ki Ran manages to win over the Ogin-dong’s refurbishment project for their firm. Jae Hee and Hyun Ku both work through the nights on the project for ten days in a row. However, Jae Hee’s overwork eventually lead to health problems. Hyun Kyu takes him to the hospital after he fainted in his office. In the hospital, Hyun Kyu reveals that he has handed over the refurbishment project to another firm, given the circumstances. Jae Hee, who is furious about the incident, accidentally left his USB behind when he tries to escape from the hospital. Mun Jung takes the opportunity to trade for a visit to his house. She eventually breaks into Jae Hee’s house and performs a check-up for him. Jae Hee and Mun Jung overhear the giggling sound of Hyun Ku and Yu Jin making out. Episode 6: The Man Who Can't Get Married Episode 6
Jae Hee accidentally spills water on Mun Jung. While on her way home, Mun Jung, who is dressed in Jae Hee’s T-Shirt, bumps into her father. Her father questions her and plans to meet Jae Hee himself. Mun Jung awkwardly persuades her father to dismiss the thought. On the other hand, Jae Hee intentionally asks the foreman for the address of the delicious soondae restaurant as he knows that Mun Jung wants to treat her father to soondae. Meanwhile, the DVD Jae Hee wishes to borrow has not been returned. The shop attendant informs him that the borrower has asked him to collect it at her place. Yu Jin fainted due to appendicitis and her dog, Sanggu alerts Jae Hee about it. Yun Ki Ran feels threatened when she knows that Jae Hee promises Mun Jung to take care of the dog. Hence, she offers to help take care of Sanggu but eventually gives up as she is too afraid of dog. Mun Jung and Jae Hee bump into each other in the pet store. Episode 8: The Man Who Can't Get Married Episode 8
Mun Jung’s father urges her to go for a matchmaking session early in the morning. Mun Jung is reluctant to go but is helpless about it. While taking Hwa Ran to the institutional gathering, Kwang Nam runs into Yoon Hee, who is on her way to send her kid to tuition. The aggressive Hwa Ran is interested in Jae Hee and even goes to his firm to ask him out for movie. Jae Hee intends to turn her down initially, but decides to go out with her when he knows that Hwa Ran likes the same movie as he is. Jae Hee meets with Mun Jung to clarify that Hwa Ran is not his girlfriend. Mun Jung in turn informs him about her blind date on Sunday. Mun Jung notices that Jae Hee seems to care a lot about her so she tells him that the blind date did not go well. Though Jae Hee is happy about it but he decides to ridicule her and that makes Mun Jung very upset. Meanwhile, Mun Jung’s father registers her for a matchmaking service but is told that he needs the proof of employment letter for the registration. He then goes to the hospital, where he bumps into Jae Hee’s mother. On the other hand, Jae Hee’s firm requires assistance for a project transfer, so Ki Ran asks for help from Jae Hee’s rival - Mun Seok Hwan. Both Mun Jung’s father and Jae Hee’s mother decide to cooperate to play cupid to Mun Jung and Jae Hee. They hope that a holiday trip will help to ignite the love spark between the two of them. Jae Hee’s sincerity touches Mun Jung. Both of them depart for the vacation but Mun Jung’s spontaneous driving causes Jae Hee’s plan to be messed up. Jae Hee is anxious about it but his anxiety makes Mun Jung laugh. As Mun Jung stares into space by the sea, Jae Hee apologises to her. Mun Jung requests him to make amends by singing her a song. Ki Ran hears Jae Hee’s singing and feels even more upset. After the vacation, both Mun Jung and Jae Hee report back to their parents. Jae Hee’s panic answer gives the elders hope. It also makes Mun Jung secretly happy. Hyun Kyu follows Ki Ran when she meets Seok Hwan for contract signing and immediately informs Jae Hee. Jae Hee is bewildered when he hears about that but Mu Jung encourages him to retain Ki Ran. Ki Ran is shocked when Jae Hee appears. Jae Hee persuades her to stay but she requests to be made the partner of the firm. Jae Hee missed the appointment time. Mu Jung is mad and disappointed about it. On the second day, Jae Hee visits Mun Jung at the hospital. He replies that he shares the same feeling, but will not be able to marry her as he is unable to design a house for them to live in. Mun Jung went a roller coaster ride of emotions throughout the entire conversation and eventually hounds Jae Hee out. Later, Mun Jung asks for Jae Hee’s help to pick up Yu Jin after work. On their way home, Jae Hee protects Yu Jin from a drunkard and that makes her heart flutter. On the other hand, Yu Jin once again receives harassing messages. Jae Hee receives a TV interview request and happily tells Mu Jung about it. Yu Jin, on the other hand, realises that her feelings for Jae Hee is now uncontrollable. She wishes to treat Hyun Kyu better to compensate but to no avail. Mun Jung goes on a blind date arranged by her friend. However, her absent-mindedness makes it obvious that the date will be unsuccessful. She then bumps into Ki Ran at the restaurant and both of them have a heart-to-heart talk. When Jae Hee wakes up and sees Mun Jung, whom he thinks about day and night, he immediately embraces her. Hyun Kyu takes Yu Jin to a late night movie but notices that she is absent-minded the entire time. Yu Jin eventually breaks up with Hyun Kyu. Meanwhile, Jae Hee and Mun Jung share an unforgettable kiss in the emergency room. Yu Jin confesses her feelings to Jae Hee but he thinks that she was referring to Sanggu. Consequently, Yu Jin misunderstands that Jae Hee shares the same feelings and is over the moon about it. Hyun Kyu overhears the conversation between Ki Ran and Jae Hee and realises that the person Yu Jin likes is Jae Hee. After arguing with Jae Hee, Hyun Kyu picks a fight with the construction workers. Episode 15: The Man Who Can't Get Married Episode 15
Mun Jung runs into Yu Jin confessing to Jae Hee when she visits Yu Jin’s house to have a talk with her. She then helps Yu Jin to get over Jae Hee by highlighting his weaknesses. Jae Hee feels slightly offended when he hears Mun Jung’s comments about himself. But later, the two of them happily enjoy their time together when Jae Hee helps Mun Jung to redesign her house. On the other hand, Kang Seok Yoon begins to hassle Yu Jin following a meeting with her. Mun Jung tells Jae Hee about it so he decides to stop designing Seok Yoon’s house since he does not like him. Episode 16: The Man Who Can't Get Married Episode 16
Jae Hee feels uncomfortable and uneasy about having another person in the house. But after Mun Jung kisses him, both of them spend an intimate night together. Mun Jung is disappointed when she finds out that Jae Hee does not plan to have children so she decides to break up with him. Upon returning back from a business trip, Jae Hee discovers that Mun Jung has already resigned from the hospital she was working at. Bearing the sense of loss, Jae Hee returns to his lonely bachelor’s life. One day, Jae Hee finds a note in the wardrobe left behind by Mun Jung and decides to search for her. He is devastated when he finds out that she has moved and even changed her mobile number. Hyun Kyu then asks Yu Jin to let Jae Hee know Mun Jung’s whereabouts.
