Joo Joong Won is the stingy and greedy CEO of Kingdom, a conglomerate that includes a major department store and hotel. He meets the gloomy Tae Gong Shil, who started seeing ghosts after an accident. Their lives take a new turn as they work together to deal with the terror and sadness brought about by the spirits, while delving into a kidnapping incident in Joong Won's past. And unknowingly, they fell in love with each other.

Dyslexic Joo Joong Won is Kingdom Enterprise’s CEO. On a dark and stormy night, he meets Tae Kong Sil, a woman that has the developed the ability to see ghosts after an accident. She notices that no ghosts get near her when Joong Won is around. He, however, is a man that is only interested in money and himself. In contrast of her encounter with Joong Won, Tae Kong Sil meets Kang Woo when he discovers her on a bright and sunny day sleeping peacefully on the rooftop.

Tae Kong Sil gets a job as the mall’s custodian to stay closer to Joo Joong Won. Although JJW expresses his incredulity of TKS’s ghost-seeing abilities, he is subconsciously starting to believe her. The rumor of Joong Won’s ex girlfriend’s ghost is suspected to be the one haunting the mall fountain, but it turns out it is the ghost of a girl that was rejected by her school friends.

After the ghost of a recently deceased person requests that Tae Kong Sil take her dropped shoe to her husband, both she and Joo Joong Won find out that she’s the wife of a shop owner in Kingdom Enterprise mall. Tae Yi Ryeong keeps running into Kang Woo, and finds out that Tae Kong Sil is working in Kingdom Enterprise. Kang Woo becomes curious about the relationship between Joo Joong Won and Tae Kong Sil.

Both woke up in the same bed holding each other's hand. For their own benefit, they both agreed to work together. It also revealed that Kang Woo was investigating Gong Shil and he was working for someone. At the last scene, Gong Shil was horrified when she saw a dramatic car accident. Joong Won appeared and hugged her while saying "Your safety hideout came. Hide".

Tae Kong Sil is promoted and gets an office closer to Joo Jong Won, but the job title and description is not quite as luxurious as she expected. Madam Go, a ghost matchmaker for members of wealthy families runs into Tae Kong Sil and chooses her as the next bride for a picky customer. Tae Yi Ryeong finds out that Kong Sil is the one that interfered with her wedding. Madam Go seeks out Kong Sil to warn her about ghosts that will try to come back to the living by using her.

Gong-shil plans to come clean with her secret to Kang-woo, but realizes it's impossible because he is terrified of ghost. Then a ghost dog not only follows Gong-shil but Joong-won as well. He wakes up from a dream, watching the dog dance to the song "Nobody But You". Now he is determined to find the owner, just so the dog won't enter his dreams ever again.

Kang Woo and Tae Kong Sil go to the Han river for their date, but she can’t enjoy herself because ghosts keep pestering her. Lee Seung Joon finds a doll that is housing three ghost children. Tae Kong Sil finds the doll and takes it to the office in Kingdom. She substitutes as Joo Jong Won’s secretary while Manager Kim is out with a cold, but the ghost kids find a child in the mall with an abusive mother.

It is revealed that the person Kang Woo has been working for is Joo Jong Won’s father. Joo Jong Won feels bad for tricking Tea Kong Sil when he invites her to Kingdom Hotel to catch a water ghost, but tries to make it up to her which causes a misunderstanding. Tae Gon Ri follows her ex boyfriend to his house so she can get her stolen money back. Cha Hee Joo appears before Tae Kong Sil and tells her that there is someone she is protecting.

In order for Kang Woo to understand the relationship between Tae Kong Sil and Joo Jong Won, Tae Kong Sil confesses to Kang Woo about her supernatural abilities. Pianist Louis Jang whose wife just passed away is scheduled to perform a concert but Kang Woo accidentally injures his hand. To help Kang Woo get out of trouble, TKS helps Louis Jang's ghost wife make the preparations the pianist needs before his performance.

Joo Joong Won comes back from China with a new fiance, so Tae Kong Sil decides to attempt to live a week without relying on him as a shelter. In reality, Joong Won and his ‘fiance’ are only pretending to be engaged for the sake of a business deal. A ghost from an engagement gift from the girl’s family is tormenting Joong Woo’s aunt, and his father also returns to Korea, explaining his research to Kang Woo about Cha Hee Joo.

After confessing his feelings to Tae Kong Sil, Joo Jong Won tells her she should not like him back. Kong Sil and Jong Won help the deceased ghost of Giant enterprise with his secret. Jong Won’s father gives him an envelope with the picture of the Cha Hee Joo look-alike, but Jong Won decides to ignore the envelope and instead wants to read the book about the wolf and goat that Tae Kong Sil is always talking about, despite his dyslexia.

Tae Kong Sil wants to help the ghost of a dead child by revealing to his mother that he is no longer living, but Joo Jong Won warns her that it will be painful for the mother that is still searching for her son. After convincing the boy to show her what happened to his body, she puts herself in a dangerous situation, which results in Jong Won having to go save her.

When Joo Jong Won wakes up from his operation, everyone finds out that his memories of the past few months have disappeared. Although he knows that his aunt is hiding something from him (Tae Kong Sil’s existence), he is not just surprised about the fact that he can read now, but that he has become a really good person. As Ha Na tries to get closer to Jong Won, Hee Joo’s ghost comes to Tae Kong Sil and asks to borrow her body.

With the help of Tae Yeo Ri, Joo Jong Won successfully stops Tae Kong Sil from leaving. He warns Kong Sil that if she tries to leave, she will be stopped in the airport. As she has no choice but to remain in Korea, the ghost child Woo Jin comes to find her and beg her to help his mother that is about to commit suicide. Kong Sil rushes to her, and Jong Won realizes that he has to let her go in order for her to find some answers to her supernatural ability.

A year has passed and Tae Kong Sil finally returns to Korea. She runs into Joo Jong Won who invites her to drink, and she pretends she can’t see ghosts anymore. After another awkward drunk night of ghosts coming in and out of her, she wakes up and he asks her to call him. She doesn’t immediately call him, so he becomes impatient and tries to give her some encouraging.
