Han Seo Jin, Noh Seung Hye, Jin Jin Hee, and Lee Myung Joo all live with their families in SKY Castle, a luxury private neighborhood hosting wealthy doctors and professors. All of the women wish for their children to enter prestigious universities and are actively supporting their education. Following the acceptance of Myung Joo’s son into Seoul National University as a medical student, an incident occurs, resulting in the family quickly moving out. To the surprise of Sky Castle’s residents, Lee Soo Im and her inferior family move in. After interacting with the families there, Soo Im takes it upon herself to help the stressed children by challenging the other women of SKY Castle, meanwhile questioning her ways of supporting her step-son as well. Suh Jin throws a lavish Sky Castle style party for Myung Joo to congratulate her for succeeding in getting Young Jae accepted into Seoul National University School of Medicine. How she did it was something all the wives of Sky Castle were dying to know. Myung Joo commits suicide and leaves everyone clueless. After her funeral, Soo Chang resigns from the hospital and moves out of Sky Castle. After reading Young Jae’s diary, Suh Jin confronts Coach Kim with Myung Joo’s suicide. The newest mother in Sky Castle, Lee Sue Lim, isn’t like other mothers in the neighbourhood. She doesn’t fit in with the other mothers. Suh Jin becomes anxious and restless due to Sue Lim. The book club disbanded due to the vote. While most of the members are thrilled to be free from it, few members are immensely disappointed. During a heated Sky Castle’s residents’ meeting, Soo Im slips up and briefly mentions Seo Jin’s inglorious past.
