Suh In Ha is a sensitive artist who falls in love at first sight with fellow college student, Kim Yoon Hee. The two of them develop feelings for each other, but before they can do anything about it, In Ha's best friend, Lee Dong Wook, professes his love for Yoon Hee. Not wanting to ruin his friendship, In Ha takes a backseat and watches as the girl he loves grows farther away from him. Fast-forward to present day Seoul where In Ha's son, Suh Joon, meets and falls in love with Ha Na, Kim Yoon Hee's daughter. The children are completely different from their parents in personality, but fate pulls them together.
Episode 1: Love Rain Episode 1
The story begins in the 1970s. Seo In Ha falls in love at first sight when he sees Kim Yoon Hee. They meet and after that he starts learning things about her through her diary. He finally gets the courage to speak to her and feels hopeful. But problems (love vs friendship) arise when Lee Dong Wook, one of his best friends, also falls in love with Yoon Hee.
Episode 2: Love Rain Episode 2
The episode starts with a festival on campus. Dong Wook confesses that In Ha was the one who had said the "Love is never saying sorry" interpretation he used to impress Yoon Hee. Dong Wook also makes up his mind to really ask Yoon Hee out, but In Ha gets hurt and they have to go to the hospital. Yoon Hee sees the portraits In Ha painted. Chang Mo confesses to the one he likes while talking about the love triangle. They go on a trip and In Ha sings part of his song "Love Rain".
Episode 3: Love Rain Episode 3
After In Ha finishes singing the song, he tells his friends he has decided to join the army. He gives Yoon Hee a parting gift before leaving for a sketching trip. While looking at the gift, Yoon Hee runs out of the classroom and goes to meet In Ha. After this meeting, In Ha decides to tell Dong Wook about his feelings for Yoon Hee. At night, they go looking for each other.
Episode 4: Love Rain Episode 4
They take a walk after "coincidentally" meeting. Yoon Hee finds out In Ha had her diary. When he goes to apologize, Yoon Hee starts coughing and we find out she has a serious disease. She moves back to her hometown. In Ha goes looking for her. Yoon Hee decides to go the US. On the day of the radio show competition, there's a commotion which results in In Ha having to join the army sooner. Yoon Hee leaves In Ha a parting gift and letter with Dong Wook. It transitions to 2012 and 1, 2, 3...
Episode 5: Love Rain Episode 5
Seo Joon and Ha Na start their story. They bump into each other and Seo Joon ends up with Ha Na's cellphone. She calls him so they can meet but he pulls a prank on her and makes her look for him all over the place. They fight a lot and end up watching the snow Diamond together. Seo Joon almost freezes to deatch because of his expensive thin clothes so they end up in a hot spring together. A 3-seconds-moment occurs betweem them
Episode 6: Love Rain Episode 6
Seo Joon falls for Ha Na. He doesn't want to admit it to he looks for any excuse to keep seeing her. They go back to Korea and three months later he ends up using a photography of her for an advertisement. Chang Mo opens a store and invites In Ha, Dong Wook and Hye Jung(who apparently is Seo Joon's mother) to the grand opening, for old time's sake.
Episode 7: Love Rain Episode 7
Hye Jung discovers that Yoon Hee didn't die in the States, as they all believed.
Episode 8: Love Rain Episode 8
In Ha refuses to let Yoon Hee disappear from his life again, and at the same time, his son finds himself falling for her daughter.
Episode 9: Love Rain Episode 9
Ha Na moves to Seo Jun's place as a gardener, it turns out they are almost sharing a room, separated by a bookshelf. They have a party, she gets drunk and he secretly kisses her, she wakes up, in the morning she tells him she remembers nothing. In Na is still trying to bring Yoon-He's love back.Ha Na and Seo Jun go on a date, he kisses her and tells her not to forget anymore, then tells her he's going to do it the real way and if she wants to avoid, she can... she doesn't...
Episode 10: Love Rain Episode 10
Yoon Hee decides to push In Na away after Hye Jung spoke to her and told her a few lies. In Na decided he couldn't just let Yoon Hee disappear from his life again and as she was getting away from him she almost got hit by a car, but he intervened and ended up in the hospital. Joon and Ha Na keep getting closer to each other.
Episode 11: Love Rain Episode 11
Joon and Ha Na become a couple. Hye Jung still can't get over In Na leaving her, so she makes a scene in the hospital when she sees Yoon Hee. Joon stops and takes her away. Joon finds out Yoon Hee is Ha Na's mom and breaks up with her.
Episode 12: Love Rain Episode 12
Seo Joon breaks up with Ha Na and she's trying to understand why. Kim Yoon Hee is forced to leave her house and quit her job because of Hye Jung. Ha Na is offered the opportunity to work as a model again and the photoshoot takes place on the beach that Yoon Hee and In Ha went to back in the 70's.
Episode 13: Love Rain Episode 13
Joon tells Ha Na the truth about their parents. They decide to break up and Ha Na goes back to living with her mom. In ha proposes to Yoon Hee again, this time with his 2 best friends, Chang Mo and Dong Wook. As In Ha and Yoon Hee start planning their wedding Dong Wook tells Hye Jung that they're getting married so things won't go smoothly. In Ha arranges a meeting for Yoon Hee and Ha Na to meet Joon
Episode 14: Love Rain Episode 14
In Ha and Yoon Hee move forward with their wedding arrangements despite opposition from Hye Jung who does not take their plans sitting down. Seo Jun reveals to his father his relationship with Ha Na.
Episode 15: Love Rain Episode 15
Ha Na keeps trying to avoid Joon as much as she possibly can.
Episode 16: Love Rain Episode 16
In Ha decides to cancel the wedding and stay friends with Yoon Hee. While Joon and Ha Na decide to be together.
Episode 17: Love Rain Episode 17
Joon and Ha Na spend the night together. Yoon Hee finds out In Ha cancelled the wedding so their children could be happy together. Hye Jung wants to find out why Joon is the reason the wedding was cancelled.
Episode 18: Love Rain Episode 18
Hye Jung finds out Joon is dating Ha Na. So, she harasses HaNa and promises she will do everything in her power to break them up. Joon tells his father about Yoon Hee's condition.
Episode 19: Love Rain Episode 19
Joon decides to go to New York, so In Ha and Yoon Hee can rekindle their relationship, but he tells Ha Na he will be waiting for her.
Episode 20: Love Rain Episode 20
When Yoon Hee finds out Joon is leaving to go to New York and Ha Na is staying behind to take care of her, she decides to leave South Korea and go to the United States alone without anyone knowing instead of doing as had been planned.
