The year is 1941, and East Asia is being torn apart by war – on land, at sea, and in the air. Imperial Japanese forces occupied Hong Kong and worked with native collaborators in a bid to impose strict Japanese martial law. Into this lethal fray steps a young man named Ye Chong, a fierce patriot and a devoted communist. Recruited by Chinese communist forces, he agrees to go undercover as a double agent. His role will be to infiltrate the collaborators who are helping Japan tighten its grip on Hong Kong. The role involves becoming the “Autumn Cicada,” a spy who will relay information back to his communist comrades who are still plotting to throw off the Japanese yoke. Episode 1: Autumn Cicada Episode 1
Ye Chong is Chinese, but grew up in Japan and took classes with the Japanese Emperor. He is in the Japanese military, but is working undercover for the Chinese Communist Party. His assignment is to go to Hong Kong to undermine the Japanese activities in Hong Kong. He is to meet Osprey, using some code words. His code name is Autumn Cicada. When Ye Chong gets to Hong Kong, his code name has already been leaked to the Japanese. His mentor, Sail, and Osprey have already been killed. Ye Chong kills off one of the informants and made it look like he was protecting the general. Uncle He tries to get Mr. Chi to help be a leader in the Communist Party. Mr. Chi declines because he doesn't feel confident. While at the club Mr. Chi starts playing the piano and Ye Chong joins him in playing a duet. Miyamoto Cangye kills Uncle He, which convinces Mr. Chi to become the leader of the Hong Kong Underground Party No. 3 Liaison Staion.
Episode 2: Autumn Cicada Episode 2
Mr. Chi learns that there was supposed to be a meeting between Autumn Cicada and Osprey, but with Osprey dead and the meeting destination taken over by the Japanese, how can they still save Autumn Cicada? Mr. Chi recognizes Miyamoto Cangye and tries to prevent Autumn Cicada from being captured by the Japanese. To Ye Chong's surprise, someone shows up pretending to be Autumn Cicada. He tries to save him, but the fake Autumn Cicada dies anyways. Mr. Chi starts investigating Ye Chong. Miyamoto Cangye also starts suspecting Ye Chong. Luckily Miyamoto Cangye has no real proof that Ye Chong did it since Ye Chong killed Autumn Cicada. Miyamoto Cangye uses Ye Chong as bait to lure out the anti-Japanese.
Episode 3: Autumn Cicada Episode 3
Ye Chong and Miyamoto Cangye both prepare for the celebration party, knowing it will be a trap. The BIS want to kill Ye Chong with Mr. Chi's help, but Mr. Chi says he is only a business man. Mr. Chi is being intimidated from becoming the Hong Kong Ambassador. During the celebration party, different anti-Japanese factions try to kill Ye Chong. Xue Ping from BIS tries to kill Ye Chong with a knife. A student open fires and shoots Ye Chong, disrupting everyone's plans. As the ambulance is taking Ye Chong to the hospital, it is under attack, and Ye Chong goes missing. Miyamoto Cangye interrogates the student to find out who she works for, but Ye Chong takes her away instead. Ye Chong does surgery to save the student.
Episode 4: Autumn Cicada Episode 4
They accuse Jin Xiang of attempting to murder Ye Chong and arrest her. Mr. Chi figures out that Blue Panther is behind the accusation. Blue Panther tries to take over the Xinghe Society and get them to work for the Japanese. Mr. Chi points out the facts and what he is trying to do. Blue Panther tries to incite a revolt in Xinghe Society, but fails. Mr. Chi tries to find someone to save Jin Xiang.
Episode 5: Autumn Cicada Episode 5
Tang Feng wants to break Jin Xiang out of prison, but Mr. Chi says he will solve it. Mr. Chi breaks into Ye Chong's house to ask him to save her. General Sato comes in at an awkward time and sees the two of them together. Mr. Chi promises to do business with the Japanese if they let Jin Xiang go. Ye Chong finds Blue Panther and has evidence that Miyamoto Cangye tried to kill him. He Ying escapes from Ye Chong's house. Ye Chong promises to save Jin Xiang if Mr. Chi will do something for him. Miyamoto Cangye uses He Ying as bait to catch the anti-Japanese. Ye Chong ends up going to save He Ying on his own.
Episode 6: Autumn Cicada Episode 6
Mr. Chi promises to be the Goodwill Ambassador in exchange for saving Jin Xiang. Ye Chong plans to execute the ones who attacked the ambulance instead. Ye Chong takes full charge of He Ying. He Ying tries to kill Ye Chong at the hospital. Ye Chong reunites with his adopted brother: Xiao Zhuang, another Communist member. Mr. Chi sets up a telegraph to communicate with the Communist Party. It tells him to find HK. Someone has been contacting Xiao Zhuang, but he's not sure who. On his way back, Ye Chong sees Blue Panther and follows him. Jin Xiang sees Blue Panther and gets out of the car to follow him. Ye Chong and Mr. Chi end up meeting. The BIS ends up taking in Blue Panther.
Episode 7: Autumn Cicada Episode 7
Mr. Chi sent people out to get prescriptions to try and find Xiang Jiang. One of the prescriptions is different from the rest. One of Uncle Liu's errand boys reads one of the posters on the bulletin board. It says they pay big money on information about Communists. He runs off to get paid, but nobody will listen to him. Ye Chong gets to him and Uncle Liu runs back to tell Mr. Chi. Ye Chong gets the information from the boy. Then he tells the boy how to deal with Miyamoto Cangye if he shows up. Mr. Chi meets Xiang Jiang. Uncle Liu gets there to warn Mr. Chi. They leave right before Ye Chong shows up. The Japanese search for a European spy from a ship. Miyamoto Cangye breaks Bern's pocket watch because he thinks there's something amiss, but a Japanese business man vouches for him. Mr. Chi gets a note from Xiang Jiang about 7 other Communists who need help safely leaving Hong Kong. Mr. Chi also learns of a British spy with intelligence. Mr. Bern goes to Mr. Chi's store hoping to get his pocket watch fixed.
Episode 8: Autumn Cicada Episode 8
Mr. Chi agrees to help Mr. Bern fix his broken pocket watch. The Japanese don't find anything in the store and go to Mr. Chi's house instead. Miyamoto Cangye and Ye Chong interrogate Mr. Chi about Mr. Bern. The British spy is in contact with BIS and wants to sell important information. Miyamoto Cangye and Ye Chong are waiting for Mr. Bern in his hotel room. Ye Chong finds the intelligence from Mr. Bern. Mr. Chi has moved his telegraph from his store into his car to avoid detection. Xiao Zhuang tries to send news through the phone. His mysterious caller sets up a meeting time and place. Mr. Chi also gets the same time and place. Everyone shows up at the meeting place hoping to meet the mysterious person. Miyamoto Cangye sends his men to spy on Xiao Zhuang. Mr. Chi notices the Japanese are there and fires a single shot as a warning.
Episode 9: Autumn Cicada Episode 9
Mr. Chi agrees to share his store of extra grains with the rest of Hong Kong. Miyamoto Cangye suspects Xiao Zhuang of being a Communist. Xiao Zhuang information was received by the mysterious caller. Mr. Chi receives a mysterious package of clothes. He finds important intelligence sewn inside. The telegraph appears as Mr. Chi tries to transmit the information. Ye Chong realizes that the telegraph is on a car. Miyamoto Cangye immediately locks everyone in place so that no information can leak out. Ye Chong tries to find the telegraph machine. Mr. Chi is stuck on the road with his telegraph machine while Miyamoto Cangye is searching each car. Xiao Zhuang helps him out by creating a distraction. Miyamoto Cangye comes up empty handed. Xiang Jiang needs Mr. Chi's help to smuggle out seven Communists. General Sato wants help with getting food for the troops. Mr. Chi comes up with a plan to do business in Vietnam. Ye Chong gets assigned to travel with Mr. Chi. Mr. Chi will use it to smuggle out the Communists. Ye Chong wants to investigate Mr. Chi.
Episode 10: Autumn Cicada Episode 10
Xiang Jiang wants to return to Hong Kong after sending the seven Communists to safety. Ye Chong and Mr. Chi test out each other. Mr. Chi thinks Ye Chong has figured out their secret. Tang Feng helps Mr. Chi hide the extra men. There little food in Hong Kong. When He Ying goes out shopping for food, she picks up a tail. Ye Chong follows Mr. Chi to his meeting.
Episode 11: Autumn Cicada Episode 11
Ye Chong barges in on Mr. Chi's meeting. Ye Chong is upset with Mr. Chi dealing in firearms. Jin Xiang enters the meeting full of explosives to keep Ye Chong in check. Ye Chong tries to get Xinghe Society for his own personal use. Their goods were stolen in Vietnam before they could make any deals. Tang Feng goes with Ye Chong to get their stolen goods back. They enter the boxing ring for some fights.
Episode 12: Autumn Cicada Episode 12
Doing business is hard in Vietnam. Everyone is giving them a bad time. Mr. Chi successfully does business with Li Kuinan after he learns that Mr. Chi has connections with the Japanese government. He Ying is being watched by the Japanese. Miyamoto Cangye decides to use Blue Panther to find out who is helping He Ying. BIS agrees to let Blue Panther kill He Ying so that Miyamoto Cangye will trust him more.
Episode 13: Autumn Cicada Episode 13
Blue Panther sends his men to kill He Ying. Uncle Liu sends his men in to save He Ying and there is a gun fight. Uncle Liu's men retreat and Blue Panther chases after them, but is intercepted by a runaway horse and cart. Then Japanese men come to take He Ying away. It turns out they are fake Japanese men in uniforms. Xiao Zhuang takes He Ying back to his place to stay safe. Ye Chong and Mr. Chi take two separate routes. Mr. Chi's group gets captured by Li Kuinan in the forest. Tang Feng takes the sea route with all the money. They wanted to capture Ye Chong to free a Communist. Mr. Chi stays behind as a hostage and Jin Xiang goes to find Ye Chong for help. Ye Chong asks Yamamoto for help to save Mr. Chi. He has a great plan to annihilate the Communist camp in Vietnam. Yamamoto breaks the deal and will destroy the Communist camp with Ye Chong.
Episode 14: Autumn Cicada Episode 14
Ye Chong is called in to explain what happened when the Japanese were attacked in the Communist camp. Tang Feng seems to have become friends with Ye Chong. He Ying gets a gun from Xiao Zhuang. When Ye Chong returns, He Ying almost kills him. Ye Chong and Xiao Zhuang discuss their ideas about Mr. Chi. Mr. Chi asks Xiang Jiang about Autumn Cicada.
Episode 15: Autumn Cicada Episode 15
Mr. Chi finally learns that the real Autumn Cicada is still out there. Miyamoto Cangye has caught some Communist party members. He tortures them for information. Ye Chong goes into the office to steal information and almost gets caught. He needs to stop Miyamoto Cangye before he finds more clues about Xiang Jiang. Mr. Chi learns about the attack on He Ying. They investigate to find out who saved her.
Episode 16: Autumn Cicada Episode 16
Ye Chong finds out that Miyamoto Cangye has cracked Meng Hao who knows Xiang Jiang. He sends Xiao Zhuang to put out a warning to other Communists that the location is compromised. Ye Chong gets Xinghe Society to help him find out where Miyamoto Cangye is keeping Meng Hao. Miyamoto Cangye investigates Ye Chong's phone call on the day they couldn't find the roving radio station. He wiretaps Ye Chong's house. Xiang Jiang goes to warn the other Communists, but Mr. Chi is worried that it may expose him. Ye Chong gets Tang Feng to help him keep an eye on Miyamoto Cangye and his every move. Meng Hao starts writing down Communist locations for Miyamoto Cangye. Ye Chong fights with He Ying to remove all the surveillance. Ye Cheng puts a grand plan into play to thwart Miyamoto Cangye, kill Meng Hao, and win over He Ying.
Episode 17: Autumn Cicada Episode 17
Ye Chong puts his plan into action and Miyamoto Cangye takes the bait. With Tang Feng's help, Xiao Zhuang sneaks in to give Meng Hao poison and easily escapes. Miyamoto Cangye meets He Ying and reveals that her brother had defected to the Japanese. Ye Chong gets rid of all the surveillance equipment in his house. He Ying leaves to go back to school and Ye Chong convinces the Japanese that she has turned. Mr. Chi thinks Ye Chong is using Tang Feng, but working with Miyamoto Cangye. Ye Chong explains what happened with He Ying to General Sato, trying to throw suspicion on Miyamoto Cangye. Tang Feng tries to find out who saved He Ying from Blue Panther. Xue Ping shows up to save Blue Panther.
Episode 18: Autumn Cicada Episode 18
He Ying joins the Poet's Club in college. They will have a guest speaker with anti-Japnaese thoughts. Professor Yu might be a Communist and He Ying reports back to Ye Chong. He Ying goes to find Ye Chong at his office. Ye Chong goes to the Poet's Club to meet the other students. Miyamoto Cangye starts taking action against suspected Communists. Jin Xiang wants to help some Communists who got trapped by the Japanese. Miyamoto Cangye has trapped some Communists in an abandoned building. Tang Feng gets tasked with saving Sun Yongxi.
Episode 19: Autumn Cicada Episode 19
Tang Feng engages the Japanese in a gun battle and Ye Chong rushes up to find the trapped Communist. Ye Chong helps him escape by chasing in the opposite direction. The Japanese have captured Professor Yu, but he still shows up at the college. The student who picked him up hasn't returned, though. Xiang Jiang returns to Hong Kong only to find out that his family has been taken. The real Professor Yu is being interrogated for information. Xiao Zhuang gets a phone call to go to a tea house. Xiang Jiang wants to save the rest of the Communists, but it will most likely expose him. Xiang Jiang leaves a warning for Ye Chong.
Episode 20: Autumn Cicada Episode 20
Miyamoto Cangye sets up another trap for the Communists. Tang Feng follows Sun Yongli. Mr. Chi sees the missing person poster and realizes it must be Xiang Jiang. People under surveillance by the Japanese start disappearing as they get news to retreat. Xiang Jiang almost gets caught, but is saved by a mysterious stranger. The Japanese set a trap at the press. Xiang Jiang walks straight into it and gets caught. Ye Chong is shocked by the revelation.
Episode 21: Autumn Cicada Episode 21
Mr. Chi watches Xiang Jiang get captured and can't do a thing about it. Miyamoto Cangye took Ye Chong's white handkerchief that was used to warn about the trap. Xiang Jiang got captured in exchange for saving his comrades, but then he learns that his family is captured and still alive. Miyamoto Cangye tries to crack Xiang Jiang through his family. Xiang Jiang left Mr. Chi a message before he was caught. Ye Chong has to connect with Xiang Jiang during the interrogation. Xiang Jiang wants to exchange all his information for his family. Ye Chong plans to save Xiang Jiang's family by getting the information to Mr. Chi.
Episode 22: Autumn Cicada Episode 22
Tang Feng rescues Xiang Jiang's family from Blue Panther's escort team. Xiang Jiang promises to spill all his secrets when he sees his family. While they wait, he has a fancy meal in the jail cell. Ye Chong wants to save Xiang Jiang, but Xiang Jiang changes the plan by drinking alcohol. Ye Chong learns that He Ying's classmate was killed. He then proceeds to kill the fake Professor Yu. Mr. Chi comes back safely from the party. Xiang Jiang gets poisoned and goes to the hospital. Ye Chong thinks of a plan to save him, but Xiang Jiang refuses to put him in more danger.
Episode 23: Autumn Cicada Episode 23
Mr. Chi meets his new contact, Tang Feng, code name Fisherman. Mr. Chi learns that Autumn Cicada is alive and wants to find him. Miyamoto Cangye tells his suspicions of Ye Chong to General Sato. The Japanese also learn that Autumn Cicada may still be alive. Ye Chong heads to the interrogation cell and learns that they are using a special medicine to interrogate prisoners. Professor Yu says he doesn't recognize Autumn Cicada. Tang Feng contacts Xiao Zhuang using the special phone
Episode 24: Autumn Cicada Episode 24
Ye Chong gives a list of Communists who need to leave before being captured to Xiao Zhuang who gives it to Tang Feng. The Japanese go on Communist raids. Some people have escaped and it proves that someone on the Japanese side is helping them. Ye Chong knows he is now being highly suspected. Ye Chong tries to find the missing Professor Yu and gets the herbs from the medicine. Xiao Zhuang uses the telephone to get them to check out the herbs from the medicine. They track down the herbs to a doctor and get his help to capture Dr. Wu. BIS also wants to save Professor Yu.
Episode 25: Autumn Cicada Episode 25
Professor Yu says he has seen Autumn Cicada before and says that he can play the piano. Miyamoto Cangye wants Professor Yu to pick out the spy. Ye Chong guesses that Professor Yu is being kept at the hotel. Dr. Wu goes home and gets caught by Tang Feng. Ye Chong agrees to participate in Miyamoto Cangye's sting operation so he can rescue Professor Yu. Tang Feng sees Xue Ping and follows her during the day of their rescue attempt. The Communists can't get to the fourth floor to rescue Professor Yu because the fourth floor has been blocked off. Professor Yu carefully examines each suspect for signs of being Autumn Cicada. Right when he is considering Ye Chong, a wild gunshot causes chaos. Bombs going off gives Ye Chong a chance to grab Professor Yu and escape, however Professor Yu ends up getting shot and dying anyways.
Episode 26: Autumn Cicada Episode 26
Xue Ping from the BIS ends up going to Tang Feng for comfort. Mr. Chi and Tang Feng try to figure out how Professor Yu died. Ye Chong has been kept out of the loop so he puts on a show to get back into the meeting. The newly assigned communications officer from Japan is Junko, Ye Chong's step sister. She brings a lot of complications to Ye Chong's life.
Episode 27: Autumn Cicada Episode 27
Junko finds He Ying in Ye Chong's house and is upset. The Japanese decide to lower the population of Hong Kong by relocating residents. Turns out Xue Ping is trying to get intelligence from Tang Feng. Tang Feng and Xiao Zhuang continue to connect through the phone. Ye Chong eats out with Junko instead of He Ying and makes He Ying upset. Jin Xiang saves He Ying and they become friends. Jin Xiang thinks He Ying is a Communist.
Episode 28: Autumn Cicada Episode 28
Ye Chong and Miyamoto Cangye have a sparring competition. Blue Panther is grabbing residents off the street, so Jin Xiang told Mr. Chi to help her kill Blue Panther. Tang Feng gets his calls while Xue Ping monitors his communication. There is going to be an extravagant party and Ye Chong brings He Ying as his guest. Junko uses rolling blackouts to identify the location of the telegraph stations.
Episode 29: Autumn Cicada Episode 29
Mr. Chi shares his idea about using rolling blackouts to find telegraph stations, and makes Ye Chong suspicious of him. Ye Chong and He Ying's relationship confuses Mr. Chi. Jin Xiang shares her suspicions about He Ying. The blackout at the party causes Mr. Chi to act strange. Miyamoto Cangye goes after Mr. Chi. Ye Chong distracts Miyamoto Cangye for Mr. Chi. The Japanese investigate all the cars at the party for the roving telegraph station.
Episode 30: Autumn Cicada Episode 30
Junko decides to use her special methods to find the roving telegraph station. Jin Xiang and Tang Feng meet up with Blue Panther. The residents of Hong Kong are caught by the Japanese and either killed or forced to work in labor camps. When Junko is close to finding the telegraph station, Ye Chong uses a disrupter and it gives just enough time for Mr. Chi to escape. Junko goes to the Jazz Bar to catch them and Ye Chong tries to cover for Mr. Chi, but it doesn't quite work. They decide to rescue some of the Hong Kong residents that were captured.
Episode 31: Autumn Cicada Episode 31
Ye Chong keeps testing Mr. Chi to see what side he is on. He also leaks news about Miyamoto Cangye's investigation into Lantau Island. Miyamoto Cangye has found the location of HK Nineth Branch. General Sato wants a massacre to reduce the population in Hong Kong and asks Ye Chong to come up with a plan, but Ye Chong's plan to open up a factory doesn't exactly go well with Mr. Chi. He changes his mind when he witnesses all the death around him.
Episode 32: Autumn Cicada Episode 32
Miyamoto Cangye prepares to eliminate HK Nineth Branch. Mr. Chi's factory opens, but the Japanese move their telecom surveillance across from Mr. Chi's factory. They decide to go telegraph and phone silent because of the surveillance. Ye Chong realizes that if the Communists are in the factory, the telegraph will be quiet and General Sato will know the Communists are there. Ye Chong comes up with a plan to create fake telegraph stations for the Japanese to track. Ye Chongs fixes the malfunctioning telegraphs and lends them to Xiao Zhuang to fake a telegraph station.
Episode 33: Autumn Cicada Episode 33
BIS is now selling information to Miyamoto Cangye. Ye Chong needs a way to warn HK Nineth Branch when the phone and telegraph aren't working. He Ying goes to Mr. Chi's factory to work as a teacher. General Sato wants Ye Chong to take over Mr. Chi's factory because he suspects there are Communists there. On the first day that Ye Chong takes over the factory, Miyamoto Cangye creates an incident to test where Ye Chong's loyalties lie. Xue Ping doesn't agree with the ideals of her boss. Blue Panther goes in and kills someone from Xinghe Society.
Episode 34: Autumn Cicada Episode 34
Mr. Chi and Jin Xiang have an argument. Mr. Chi finds a listening device and realize there are spies following Jin Xiang. Mr. Chi takes out the two doing surveillance. Miyamoto Cangye goes to Xinghe Society to confront Mr. Chi because his spies were killed. Ye Chong decides to find the Communist in the factory. Ye Chong threatens Blue Panther to stay away from the factory and Xinghe Society. He Ying saves a girl from the Japanese and brings her into the factory.
Episode 35: Autumn Cicada Episode 35
Guifang is a spy trying to get He Ying to tell her all the secrets. Junko learns that Mr. Bern is buying parts to create a telegraph. Ye Chong brings He Ying to the watch shop that Mr. Bern works at so he can plant a listening device. Xiao Zhuang sets up shop across from the watch shop to steal his information. Xiao Zhuang finds out Guifang is a Japanese spy and Ye Chong brings her in for interrogation.
Episode 36: Autumn Cicada Episode 36
Miyamoto Cangye borrowed a telegraph to report Ye Chong to someone higher up. Junko intercepts Miyamoto Cangye's message and reports him to General Sato and he gets suspended. Ye Chong tells He Ying about the Japanese spy. BIS sells Miyamoto Cangye more information. He Ying's college saves a boy from the Japanese
Episode 37: Autumn Cicada Episode 37
Miyamoto Cangye goes to the college and kills all the students. He Ying escapes with the boy and brings him to the factory. Ye Chong sees the massacre at the school. Ye Chong lies and says the students are fine. BIS sells Miyamoto Cangye more information about the Communist location. Miyamoto Cangye takes He Ying away from the factory.
Episode 38: Autumn Cicada Episode 38
He Ying is taken away and Miyamoto Cangye tells her lies about Ye Chong. They say Ye Chong killed all the students. Guifang is still alive and tries to get He Ying to tell them who Ye Chong is. Ye Chong arrives and shoots Miyamoto Cangye in the knee. Miyamoto Cangye's team took out the HK Nineth Branch and captured a vice captain. General Sato wants to execute the vice captain as a statement to the Communists. General Sato rushes the order from the factory. Xiao Zhuang goes to save the Communist from the execution site.
Episode 39: Autumn Cicada Episode 39
The survivors of the HK Nineth Branch need help. Ye Chong is worried about the rush order for General Sato. Xue Ping learns that her BIS boss is helping the Japanese. The vice captain is saved and finds Mr. Chi. He says that he was saved by someone. To save the rest of the Communists, they need money to buy guns and medicine. Mr. Chi is now poor. He starts selling things to get money. Ye Chong goes to Mr. Bern for information. Mr. Chi wants to use white phosphorous to blow up his products instead of giving them to the Japanese. Ye Chong tries to find who is stealing Mr. Bern's information.
Episode 40: Autumn Cicada Episode 40
Blue Panther had someone tailing Tang Feng, but he lost him. Tang Feng went to buy white phosphorous. Ye Chong goes into Mr. Chi's office and digs through his files. He discovers that Mr. Chi wants to use white phosphorous to blow up the shipment. Mr. Chi sells his house to General Sato. Ye Chong decides to give his plan of blowing up the ship to Mr. Chi.
Episode 41: Autumn Cicada Episode 41
Ye Chong hints that as long as the problem leaves the port, then it is no longer his problem. Tang Feng pawns another one of Mr. Chi's antiques and gets an incredible price for it. Mr. Chi is confused about whether Ye Chong is the undercover agent with the Japanese or not. The ship leaves with all the cargo and blows up in the middle of the ocean. Miyamoto Cangye is in charge of the investigation. They find out that Tao Zong Bo is behind Blue Panther's partnership with Miyamoto Cangye.
Episode 42: Autumn Cicada Episode 42
Miyamoto Cangye works with Junko to get He Ying to leave Ye Chong. Miyamoto Cangye kills Man Sheng in cold blood. Miyamoto Cangye learns that Tang Feng bought a lot of white phosphorous on the black market and that he most likely caused the ship to explode. Miyamoto Cangye arrests Mr. Chi for blowing up the ship. Ye Chong rushes in to save Mr. Chi, by saying the naval ship explosion needs to be thoroughly investigated. Miyamoto Cangye says he wants to find Communists in the factory, even if he needs to make one up. Xue Ping goes to save Tang Feng. Jin Xiang also leaves to save Tang Feng. Xue Ping and Tang Feng are pinned down by gunfire. Tang Feng is rescued by Jin Xiang.
Episode 43: Autumn Cicada Episode 43
Qingquan Shangye shows up in Hong Kong and surprises Ye Chong. He Ying feels scared and wants to leave. Miyamoto Cangye interrogates Mr. Chi. Ye Chong has nightmares from what happened when he was young. Tang Feng wakes up and wants to make a phone call to save Mr. Chi. Ye Chong has a plan to save Mr. Chi. Miyamoto Cangye continues to investigate Ye Chong.
Episode 44: Autumn Cicada Episode 44
Both sides prepare for battle at Lantau Island. The Japanese want to ambush the Communists and end up falling into their trap. Almost all the Japanese soldiers are eliminated, leaving only Miyamoto Cangye. Ye Chong blames everything on Tao Zong Bo. By the time the Japanese arrive, Miyamoto Cangye has already shot Tao Zong Bo. Xiao Zhuang helps Mr. Bern escape out of Hong Kong.
Episode 45: Autumn Cicada Episode 45
Mr. Chi is now working with Qingquan Shangye to try and understand him. Qingquan Shangye talks to Miyamoto Cangye about his accusations of Ye Chong and gives him a special assignment. Ye Chong plans to steal the new code book. Ye Chong finds a secret message in the intercepted messages. The Communist Party has been reaching out to Autumn Cicada. Ye Chong and Xiao Zhuang try to steal the pass from General Sato.
Episode 46: Autumn Cicada Episode 46
Ye Chong kills General Sato. Mr. Chi learns that a Japanese soldier has escaped and can identify the executed Communist. They try to warn their comrade through the phone, but nobody answered the phone. Then they learn that all telephones are being monitored. Qingquan Shangye is upset with Xiao Zhuang for not monitoring Ye Chong. They discover that the new code book is the one that the Communists have used. Ye Chong plans to get all the intel during the party for his sister. Ye Chong tricks He Ying into agreeing to leave Hong Kong to go on a mission, then Ye Chong takes a wedding photo with He Ying. Ye Chong searches for the intel he needs while everyone else is at the party.
Episode 47: Autumn Cicada Episode 47
Junko catches Ye Chong in her room and he pretends to give her a surprise. Miyamoto Cangye finds a dead General Sato in his office and says that Ye Chong was the last one to see him alive. Ye Chong makes it out, but is immediately surrounded. He pulls out a gun and shoots Xiao Zhuang. Miyamoto Cangye finds the intel on Ye Chong, but Junko thinks he framed him. Xiao Zhuang takes He Ying to meet Mr. Chi. He tells Mr. Chi the intel and that Ye Chong is Autumn Cicada. The intel indicates the location is Shanghai, so Mr. Chi wants to go there. Ye Chong was executed in Japan, and Qingquan Shangye sends Xiao Zhuang to Shanghai. Ye Chong shows up alive in Shanghai and is immediately captured by the police. The police captain is a Communist. Qingquan Shangye is waiting for Ye Chong to meet up with the other Communists so they can wipe them all out.
Episode 48: Autumn Cicada Episode 48
Xiao Zhuang exchanges his room so it is closer to Ye Chong. When Ye Chong goes back to the hotel, he runs into Xiao Zhuang. Aoki leaks information to Xiao Zhuang who gives it to Ye Chong. Ye Chong has most of the plan, but Santalum's successor won't meet Ye Chong until there's more evidence. Qingquan Shangye plans to give Ye Chong the plans so that he can convince his superiors in the party to meet him. Miyamoto Cangye kills the police officer and messes up Qinquan Shangye's plan. Ye Chong sets a trap for Miyamoto Cangye.
Episode 49: Autumn Cicada Episode 49
The Communists successfully bomb the ship that had the poison gas. Ye Chong and Mr. Chi finally meet again. Ye Chong tries to find the other poison gas. Ye Chong meets his stepfather in the warehouse, but he gets poisoned. Ye Chong kills his father. Junko gets the rest of the poison gas and gives Ye Chong a challenge to find the poison gas before she kills herself. Ye Chong solves it right before he blacks out.
