In the multiplayer online game Glory, Ye Xiu is well known as the textbook-level expert and top-tier player Ye Qiu. Due to a series of circumstances, he was forcefully expelled from his professional team. After leaving the pro-gaming scene, he resides at an Internet Café employed as one of the managers. When Glory launches their tenth server, he throws himself into the game once more—equipped with ten years of gaming experience, memories of the past, and an incomplete, self-made weapon. Episode 1: The King’s Avatar Episode 1
YeXiu is the top player in the professional eSports league of the multiplayer online game Glory. He is at the top of his game, when his manager suddenly decides to demote him. Not wanting to give in, he decides to leave his team Excellent Era and finds his way to the net café Happy on the other side of the street. There he starts on a new journey to fulfill an old promise and make new friends.
Episode 2: The King’s Avatar Episode 2
YeXiu encounters starting problems with his new job as a network manager at the net café. While playing Glory he continues searching for the rare materials he needs to finally complete his childhood friend's self-designed Glory equipment. Team Excellent Era has to deal with the aftermath of YeXiu's retirement.
Episode 3: The King’s Avatar Episode 3
Ye Xiu accidentally displays his game for all of Happy Internet to see as he fights the spider boss. The competitive Tang Rou, the best friend of Chen Guo, arrives at the cafe and begins playing Glory.
Episode 4: The King’s Avatar Episode 4
Chen Guo asks Ye Xiu to help Tang Rou learn how to play Glory. Ye Xiu and Bao Zi team up to fight a boss.
Episode 5: The King’s Avatar Episode 5
Ye Xiu gives Tang Rou notes to help her learn how to play Glory but she throws them away. Meanwhile, a professional competition begins pitting Excellent Era, and their new captain, against Blue Rain.
Episode 6: The King’s Avatar Episode 6
Shao Tian manages to distract Sun Xiang with trash talk and causes him to leave formation, leaving the rest of Excellent Era on the defensive. Shao Tian and Ye Xiu meet up and teams up together in Glory.
Episode 7: The King’s Avatar Episode 7
Wen Zhou, realizing that Shao Tian was off with Ye Xiu, tells me to go and get the Myriad Manifestation Umbrella so he can study it. Shao Tian returns with Ye Xiu, leading to him and Wen Zhou dueling against eachother.
Episode 8: The King’s Avatar Episode 8
Yi Fan, of the Tiny Herb team, is at training camp attempting to get better at Glory; he reaches out Lord Grim for help. Tang Rou continues trying to get better at the game while spending more time Chen Guo. Ye Hui gets drunk and confronts Ye Xiu at Happy Internet.
Episode 9: The King’s Avatar Episode 9
Yi Fan is happy for his improvement and continues playing as Ghostblade. Guild leaders target Lord Grim.
Episode 10: The King’s Avatar Episode 10
Ye Xiu and Shao Tian get separated from the rest of their team, having to beat several enemies before heading back to help out the rest of their team. While they are running away, Tang Rou changes her mind in order to get her spear back from Ye Hui.
Episode 11: The King’s Avatar Episode 11
At the retirement event for Ye Qiu, Chen Guo and the rest of his fans are told Ye Qiu retired of his own free will. Ye Qiu and his team fight against Han Wen Qing and his team, Tyranny.
Episode 12: The King’s Avatar Episode 12
Chen Guo's attempts to sell fan items of Ye Qiu are thwarted by Excellent Era employees. At the all-star competition, Tiny Herb member Ying Jie and Jie Xi compete against eachother.
Episode 13: The King’s Avatar Episode 13
Yi Fan loses his battle but gets words of encouragement from Ye Xiu. Tang Rou learns that Ye Xiu is Ye Qiu. When Tang Rou is chosen as the audience challenger against professional member Li Rei of Excellent Era. When Sun Xiang takes over, Ye Xiu evens the odds.
Episode 14: The King’s Avatar Episode 14
Chen Guo comes to a realization and chooses to look to the future. Sun Xiang is taunted by reporters about Ye Qiu.
Episode 15: The King’s Avatar Episode 15
Chen Guo tries to keep Ye Xiu around, worried he may leave Happy Internet. Ye Xiu thinks about his past.
Episode 16: The King’s Avatar Episode 16
Ye Xiu and Mu Cheng talk about what's needed to start a new team and Ye Xiu gets a manager after putting on an act for Chen Guo. After Chen Guo makes a mistake, the team fails their mission.
Episode 17: The King’s Avatar Episode 17
Ye Xiu forms the team "Happy", named after manager Chen Guo's cafe. Bo Yuan is locked in a room by Chen Guo who thinks he may be a criminal. Ye Xiu gets him to agree to manage Happy's guild until Chen Guo is ready to take over.
Episode 18: The King’s Avatar Episode 18
Ye Xiu uses Chen Guo's scarf to clean resulting in her getting angry. She gives him money to buy new clothes and appears in an expensive Italian suit. However, it's Ye Qiu, the twin brother of Ye Xiu who used his name in Glory due to his lack of interest in video games.
Episode 19: The King’s Avatar Episode 19
Sun Xiang begins practicing in hopes of beating Ye Xiu. Qiu Fei, a disciple of Ye Xiu, thinks that Ye Xiu has made Glory about revenge and teams up in a plot with Ye Hui.
Episode 20: The King’s Avatar Episode 20
Chen Guo passes her exam and gets her manager certificate. Excellent Era loses once again and causes Mu Cheng to cry and reflect in a region of Glory created by her brother. Xiao Shi Qin of Thunderclap quits and becomes of member of Excellent Era.
Episode 21: The King’s Avatar Episode 21
Happy Internet Cafe is set up for Happy members to begin practicing. Yi Fan wants to recruit a cleric for Happy.
Episode 22: The King’s Avatar Episode 22
Yi Fan loses confidence in himself and Ye Xiu wants to push him to overcome it. While trying to steal weapons, a ninja takes the weapon they want and Ye Xiu pursues him. Yi Fan doesn't show up to the competition.
Episode 23: The King’s Avatar Episode 23
Ye Hui blackmails Wen Yi. The 9th season mentor competition begins and pits Happy against Tiny Herb. Ye Xiu contacts an old friend.
Episode 24: The King’s Avatar Episode 24
Wei Chen pretends to be a Ye Qiu fan and asks Chen Guo questions. When Lord Grim is attacked, Yi Fan comes to his aid. Wei Chen loses his weapon and goes to meet Ye Xiu to get it back.
Episode 25: The King’s Avatar Episode 25
Happy faces Blue Rain in the competition and Wei Chen is invited to join Happy. Excellent Era and Happy make a bet after entering the challenge competition. Ye Xiu recruits a new member to Happy.
Episode 26: The King’s Avatar Episode 26
Mo Fan, the ninja, comes to a decision regarding team Happy. Sun Xiang discusses his strategy against Happy with his team, wanting to face Ye Xiu himself.
Episode 27: The King’s Avatar Episode 27
Team Happy is finally facing off against Team Excellent Era. Mo Fan has troubles fitting into the team and has to cope with the repercussions of his actions. Team Happy tries to reassure their newest team member that he belongs with them.
Episode 28: The King’s Avatar Episode 28
Thanks to a hidden play by Ye Xiu, Mo Fan finally finds his place in the team. The championship team's are announced and Ye Xiu decides to take a trip back to the past and his home and finally face his estranged father.
Episode 29: The King’s Avatar Episode 29
The championship games are starting. Team Happy faces off against experienced Team Miracle. While continuous mistakes and nervousness threaten their first win, YeXiu hopes to finally find common ground with his estranged father.
Episode 30: The King’s Avatar Episode 30
Continuation of Team Happy against Team Miracle. After seeing his father, Ye Xiu is finally able to take a step forward and have closure for his past. Team Happy, especially Ye Xiu, have to deal with negative online comments and angry fans labeling Ye Xiu as a traitor.
Episode 31: The King’s Avatar Episode 31
Ye Xiu tells the team not to worry about the fans. Happy trains. Team Happy faces Team Everlasting in the 6th round of the competition.
Episode 32: The King’s Avatar Episode 32
Ye Xiu invites Wu Chen to join Happy after Everlasting disbands. An issue arises at the competition. Yi Fan is up first in the individual competition.
Episode 33: The King’s Avatar Episode 33
Yi Fan wins in the individual competition. The team is at a loss at what to do without Ye Xiu.
Episode 34: The King’s Avatar Episode 34
Tang Rou gets hotheaded and ignores the plan. Glory's president announces Ye Xiu is banned. Team Happy bets Ye Xiu wil show.
Episode 35: The King’s Avatar Episode 35
Following the destruction of the Myriad Manifestation Umbrella, Ye Xiu reflects on the past. Team Happy blames each other for their loss and considers disbanding.
Episode 36: The King’s Avatar Episode 36
Chen Guo and Wu Chen head to the Glory press conference where Ye Xiu gives a speech. Myriad Manifestation Umbrella is in need of a special crystal to fix it.
Episode 37: The King’s Avatar Episode 37
Team Happy takes a team photo and finds out the rules have changed for the final. Mu Cheng informs Excellent Era's manager that she won't be renewing her contract.
Episode 38: The King’s Avatar Episode 38
Yi Fan and Shi Qin's fight ends in them both defeated. Ye Xiu and Sun Xiang face each other. Wei Chen considers this competition his last and wants to win.
Episode 39: The King’s Avatar Episode 39
Mu Cheng beats Wei Chen but comes to the conclusion that it's her last match with Excellent Era. The team competition begins.
Episode 40: The King’s Avatar Episode 40
Excellent Era is ahead by 5 points. Ye Xiu faces Sun Xiang in the competition.
