Episode 1: Princess Agents Episode 1

Jing Xiao Liu wakes up as a slave with partial memory loss in Western Wei where slaves are treated inhumanely and killed senselessly. Sharp, observant and with basic martial arts, she's able to survive a hunting test, landing in Yu Wen Yue's third household. She catches the attention of the heir apparent of Northern Yan, Yan Xun, and makes an enemy of Yu Wen Huai, Wen Yue's cousin. Episode 2: Princess Agents Episode 2

Xiao Liu has a recurring dream of fighting a man called Yu Wen Hao and though triumphant, she falls into the water and hits her head on a rock. Wen Yue throws a birthday party for Yan Xun to avoid Yuan Chun's affections. He uses this opportunity to poison Wen Yue but Xiao Liu foils his plan in order to save her elder sister. Episode 3: Princess Agents Episode 3

Disconsolate over her brother's death at the hands of Wen Yue, Xiao Liu vows to take revenge. Wen Huai comes to Yu Wen manor to verify Wen Yue's grandfather is indeed dead but Consort Wei arrives just in time to thwart him. Madam Song wants to send Xiao Liu to the Bliss Chamber but her eldest sister goes in her stead and is murdered by Wen Huai's grandfather. Episode 4: Princess Agents Episode 4

While visiting Wen Yue, Yan Xun saves Xiao Liu from being arrested on suspicion of Madam Song's disappearance. Wen Huai's grandfather visits Wen Yue and is unsuccessful in becoming the head of the household, so instead tries to plant his spy as Wen Yue's bedchamber maidservant. Aiming to not show favouritism, Wen Yue makes the choosing of his bedchamber maidservant a contest. Although Xiao Liu is of too low a rank to compete, her determination gets her into the contest. Episode 5: Princess Agents Episode 5

Wen Yue gives Xiao Liu the opportunity to kill, but she opts not to in order to protect her sisters. He gives her a new name, Xing Er, and begins giving her punishments to teach her martial arts skills. Yan Xun comes by Yu Wen manor to tease Xing Er, but she gives him the cold shoulder. Xing Er is battered and tired from all the punishments Wen Yue keeps giving her to improve her martial arts. Yue Qi notices that she is progressing quite quickly, surmising that she must have been taught martial arts basics growing up. She is promoted to silver bells slave status, so Wen Yue can see how she handles the pressure of jealousy and envy from the other slaves. The Emperor of Wei suspects Northern Yan of rebelling and asks Wen Yue to look into it using his Heavenly Eyes spy network. Because Wen Yue is good friends with Yan Xun, the emperor also asks Wen Huai to secretly look into it. Wen Huai plans a chain of events to bring down Wen Yue at his weakest but ignites Xing Er's inner power, which is consuming her physical health. Wen Yue funnels the coldness of the Snow Jade Dog to counter the excessive heat coming from Xing Er's inner power. The lake is being drained to look for Madam Song's body. Xing Er makes careful, detailed plans to help her sisters escape by forging their slave release documents. Wen Yue takes her to the Lantern Festival, and she uses the opportunity to get away from him to meet her sisters. Things go awry when a mysterious princess and her confidante run into Xing Er and Yan Xun. By the time Xing Er is able to meet with her sisters, they have been taken away by noblemen. Afraid that Wen Yue will commit the same mistake as he had in the past, Wen Zhuo decides to get rid of Xing Er. Wen Huai's grandfather had been colluding with the Liang spies for some time, so they are now replacing him with Wen Huai. Man Cang relents and shows Wen Yue and Xing Er the way out of the cave, but they are ambushed by Liang spies upon exiting. Yan Xun meets Zhong Yu, who urges him to see his father in Northern Yan. His father decides to go to Western Wei to meet with the Emperor directly, while the Emperor's fears of rebellion grow. Xing Er overhears a conversation about her fate. Upon hearing his grandfather wants to use Xing'er as a death pawn for the Liang spies, Wen Yue immediately heads out to capture them and is injured. Xing'er pays a visit to Man Cang to secure weapons for her assassination attempt on Wen Huai's grandfather. Wen Yue tries to stop Xing Er from leaving and learns in the process that she knows his grandfather is alive. Though her flight gear is damaged, she escapes and is saved by Yan Xun. They go to West Gate to pick up her sisters, but they have left in search of Xing Er and are nowhere to be seen. Yan Xun and Xing Er arrive back at camp but are quickly ambushed by Wen Huai and his soldiers. While Yan Xun fights the soldiers, Xing Er confronts Wen Huai. She is able to overpower him with Yan Xun's help, but Wen Yue interferes, and they are both caught and sent to prison. Yan Xun's mother returns to the capital to speak with the emperor but he will not see her. Wen Yue tries to save Yan Xun's pregnant older sister but he's too late. For Yan Xun's trial, he's summoned by the emperor and ordered to stand as execution assistant with Wen Huai. A'Chu learns more about Yan Xun in prison and they form a closer bond. Episode 24: Princess Agents Episode 24

A'Chu and Yan Xun are led out to the platform where the imperial edict is given to Yan Xun to accept his family as rebels and to verify their severed heads. Distraught, he doesn't accept the edict and instead tries to ascend the platform to mourn and see his family. Wen Huai prevents him and declares that by not accepting the edict, he is punishable by death. Yan Xun continues to verify the severed heads of her family, recounting stories for each. She implores Yan Xun to keep living, then does the unthinkable. The imperial decree comes in time to save Yan Xun who is brought back to prison. Many of the feudal families begin scheming to eliminate Yan Xun while Yuan Chun and Wen Yue devise a plan to help him. A'Chu convinces Yan Xun to live on so he can retake what was taken and seek revenge for his murdered family. Zhong Yu makes a last-ditch effort to save Yan Xun but her plans are foiled by Xiao Yu and the Liang spies. Zhao Xi Feng visits the prison to take revenge on A'Chu and Wen Yue also visits and confirms but doesn't explain the actions he took against Yan Xun. Wen Huai goes after A'Chu and takes her back to his prison for trial. He comes to help her but needs to take drastic measures that jeopardize her life. The emperor transfers the leadership of the Heavenly Eyes spy network to Wen Huai who accidentally causes its demise. He then decrees that Yan Xun be sent to Yingge Garden and live under house arrest for three years. Many feudal families eye this as an opportunity to eliminate Yan Xun so they can rule Northern Yan. Unbeknownst to Yan Xun, Wen Yue is helping to kill assassins before they arrive at Yingge Garden, however, he must still guard against poisons. An injured Wei Shu You and Yan Xun see the Emperor to explain their case, with Wei Shu You accusing Yan Xun and vice versa. Zhong Yu goes to Yuan Chun for help, while A Chu stops Wen Huai's guards from destroying evidence of the assassins. As Wen Yue prepares to go to battle for the Emperor, he takes steps to ensure Wen Huai is also not in the capital so as to protect Yun Xan from his machinations. Wei Guang tries to cover up his crimes of taking the White Jade Cauldron and embezzling money from Northern Yan. To erase all evidence, he tries to kill Official Liu, but Wen Yue and A Chu stop this from happening. Wei Guang sacrifices himself, so the rest of the Wei family is spared. The Emperor, impressed with A Chu's archery skills, sends her to be an archery trainer in Prince Che's army, and Wen Yue assigns her to the Xiuli army, where she meets He Xiao. Yuan Che notices the affection Wen Yue has towards A Chu and tries to dissuade him based on their unequal status. Consort Wei and Yuan Che secretly plan a potential candidate for Yuan Chun's marriage, while Yan Xun plans his next move when his 3-year house arrest expires. Episode 37: Princess Agents Episode 37

Yan Xun's plans for escaping are now thwarted by the marriage to Yuan Chun. Xiao Yu proposes they work together to attack the Emperor, but given her past history with Zhong Yu, they don't trust her. Wen Huai tries to meet with Consort Lan to remind her of her obligations. A Chu accompanies Prince Ce outside the city walls to map out the garrisons, but they are ambushed by Xiao Yu's assassins. Episode 38: Princess Agents Episode 38

A Chu is severely injured in the ambush, but Wen Yue comes in time to help her. Yan Xun swoops in to take her away as Wen Yue is battling the assassins. Wen Yue realizes that Prince Ce is using him to get rid of his nemesis Xiao Yu, but is able to get info on the planted Liang spies in the city and arrests them. Zhong Yu makes plans of her own, using A'Chu to remove Wen Yue from the Knights Army. Short of men for the escape, A Chu brings the commanders of the Xiu Li army to Yan Xun to help convince them to follow him and realize their dreams of returning to Northern Yan. The Emperor enlists Wen Huai and Zhao Dong Ting to carry out a secret decree on the day of the wedding. Episode 40: Princess Agents Episode 40

On the day of the wedding, chaos breaks loose in the city as Yan Xun's plans come to fruition. Wen Yue requests A Chu be assigned to help him guard Cui Wei's palace. Dong Ting leads his army to stop Yan Xun's procession but gets an unexpected surprise from the Xiu Li army. As A Chu tries to escape, Wen Yue tries to convince her that Yan Xun's plans have gone overboard and that she will regret her actions. Yuan Chun realizes that Yan Xun is out for revenge, so he implores him to stop rebelling. After telling A Chu to wait for him outside of the city walls, Yan Xun heads to the military academy to massacre the students. Wen Yue arrives to stop him, and Yan Xun allows him this win since his investigation shows that Wen Yue tried to protect him and his family 3 years ago. Yuan Song tries to assassinate Yan Xun but gets his arm cut off in the process. Yan Xun sends him and Yuan Chun back to Wei capital. A'Chu persuades the Xiu Li army that Yan Xun will accept them when they return to Northern Yan and they encounter Yuan Song and Yuan Chun. A'Chu is shocked that they are being treated inhumanely with Yan Xun's approval, reasoning that his actions resulted from his family being killed senselessly. Episode 43: Princess Agents Episode 43

Yuan Chun blames A'Chu for her predicament, asking Prince Che to go after her. After A'Chu kills Wen Huai, Consort Shu Yi's son dies inside a wooden chest so she too also blames A'Chu. In the process of escaping Wei soldiers, A'Chu meets a scholar from Xian Yang. Wen Yue follows the trail of Liang spies to Xian Yang. While trying to save scholar Liang from the slave market, A Chu gets injured and thrown into the slave market with him. She is saved by the man Prince Ce hired, and they travel to Wupeng city, where Wen Yue, Yan Xun's men, and Wei Shu Ye are all headed, to find the accounting books scholar Liang gave A Chu to hold for him. Wei Shu Yi suspects the woman Wen Yue is with is A Chu, so takes every opportunity to verify this. At the banquet, the guards bring in scholar Liang, who is accused of harboring the documents implicating Northern Yan of embezzlement. He is kidnapped by Yan Xun's men, and the chamber of commerce merchants are exposed. They and their families are killed off to prevent future retaliation. Episode 46: Princess Agents Episode 46

While traveling with the merchant caravan, Xing Er and Wen Yue meet Xing Xing and Mo Er, whose family was killed by Yan Xun's men. Xing Xing and her family are also killed, so Xing Er and Wen Yue look for the perpetrators, leading them to Yan Xun's camp. Yan Xun stays hidden, but they both realize he's there. A Chu leaves Wen Yue to prevent Yan Xun from killing more innocent people, but she is ambushed by Wei Shu Ye. Xing Er is saved by Prince Ce, who summons Wen Yue to help find the antidote for the poison. Wen Yue believes Prince Ce only wants him to get rid of the Afterlife camp for him, but he does it anyways to save Xing Er. Xiao Yu enters the Afterlife camp to get more information on Luo He's daughter, while Wen Yue enters to get the antidote. He encounters Meng Feng, who helps him as the antidote will also save her and the other assassin's lives. As Wen Yue and Xiao Yu fight, his bird drops from his pocket and Xiao Yu realizes he's her pen pal. Wen Yue makes his affections for Xing'er very clear. Though she decides to leave, she feels torn. Yan Xun banishes the Xiu Li army to the North Pass, but they refuse. As the Wei army approaches Northern Yan, Wen Yue realizes that Yan Xun will evade them and head straight for Wei capital instead. A'Chu reunites with the Xiu Li army so they can defend Hong Chuan city from the coming Wei army. Yan Xun's General Cheng tries to ambush them, then tries to leave the city as the Wei army draws near. A'Chu commands the city and uses different tactics to subdue the Wei army. She firmly believes Yan Xun will return from Meilin Pass to help protect Hong Chun city. News of the emperor's ill health facilitates Yan Xun's plans to attack Wei capital. A'Chu is concerned that war will kill innocent people and create instability. She tries to hasten her father's death because his evil schemes have wreaked havoc and killed many innocent people.
