Two brothers, orphaned at a young age, struggle to make ends meet. The older brother works tirelessly to send his younger brother to college but accidentally kills an elderly woman during a robbery for tuition money. This sets the younger brother on a downward spiral, losing his house, job, dreams, and love. Meanwhile, the older brother continues to send letters from prison.
