Family relationships can be complicated and tortured. Bong U Ri is a loving, dutiful daughter who does her best to accommodate the needs of her deaf mother and mentally challenged stepfather. After a tragedy that takes the life of her mother, U Ri’s step-brother, Bong Ma Ru, leaves after promising to come back but never does. As U Ri grows up and searches for her stepbrother, she meets Cha Dong Ju, a young man from a wealthy family who is tortured by family secrets that he witnessed as a boy. Woo Ri recognizes Dong Joo from her childhood but he pretends not to know her. He tries to get her to sell him the painting but she finds out that he's from Wu Kyung and refuses.

Young Gyu goes to visit Dong Joo in the botanical garden. Woo Ri goes to Dong Joo's house at night to ask why he hired her dad again but he collapses.

Maroo is going to America in a few days. Grandmother sees Maroo at the hospital and tell Shin Ae but she doesn't believe her. Woo Ri plays the piano with Dong Joo.

Dong Joo takes Woo Ri to a zoo date at night. Dong Joo goes to his dad for help but he doesn't offer him any advice. Seung Chul starts developing feelings for Woo Ri. Grandmother goes to Shin Ae's house to stay.

Dong Joo takes Woo Ri out to drink not knowing Joon Ha is there too with his dad. He also finds out that his dad killed Maroo's step-mom.

Gradmother forgets who Young Gyu is at Shin Ae's house. Seungchul finds the picture of Maroo and sneaks it to Woo Ri. Joon Ha gets drunk and almost kisses Woo Ri in front of Dong Joo.

Dong Joo takes Woo Ri to a club. Dong Joo's mom tells him that her husband wants a divorce. Joon Ha takes Woo Ri out for another date.
