Saburo, a high school student from modern times, is transported back to the Sengoku era (1549), where he meets a young Oda Nobunaga. Mistaken for Nobunaga, Saburo is taken to the Oda castle and begins living as the warlord. Lacking experience in battle and leadership, Saburo struggles to understand the Sengoku era’s values, causing friction with the vassals. Episode 1: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 1
Saburo, an average high school student, is catapulted through time and space to the period of Warring States, where he agrees to live as his lookalike and historical samurai warlord, Oda Nobunaga. However, he quickly learns that he has no taste for battle and wishes for a world without war, an ideal that makes his closest advisors wince and his his enemies seize upon as a weakness.
Episode 2: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 2
Kichou's father, Saito Dousan, the "pit viper of Mino", requests an audience with Oda Nobunaga (actually Saburo from the 21st century). Saburo is afraid the neighboring daimyo will take the occasion to murder him, but surprise of surprises, Dousan is actually a time traveler from the future, too.
Episode 3: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 3
When Yoshimoto and his massive army are on their way to Owari, Saburo (as Nobunaga) must make a choice between certain death on the battlefield and holing up in the castle. Unable to decide upon either fatal option, he flees alone, intending to distance himself as much as possible from Yoshimoto to save his people from bloodshed as well as his own skin.
Episode 4: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 4
Hanbei, Japan's top tactician, joins Saburo (as Nobunaga) to work towards their shared ideal, creating a world without war. However, the very existence of the Oda clan is in danger when multiple traitors are discovered to be in their midst.
Episode 5: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 5
Saburo and the Oda clan are getting closer to clearing a way to the capital, but the next enemy territory in their path is the Azai clan. The elder Azai is willing to form an alliance with the Oda clan, but only if Ichi, Nobunaga's sister, will marry his son. Being from the 21st century, this condition sticks in Saburo's craw, so he searches for some other way they can become allies.
Episode 6: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 6
With the real Nobunaga now acting as one of Saburo's advisers and fill-in when a little finesse is needed, the Oda clan pulls strings to get Ashikaga Yoshiaki installed as shogun. However, that plan backfires when Ashikaga begins to see Saburo as a threat and calls on all of the states to destroy the Oda clan.
Episode 7: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 7
Saburo (as Nobunaga) successfully escapes from the ambushing armies and makes it back home, only to fall prey to an assassin's bullet. But even more painful than that is the knowledge that the shooter is someone he trusted. Will Saburo survive this latest betrayal?
Episode 8: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 8
Saburo (as Nobunaga) enjoys success after introducing the free market to one town, a situation that his many daimyo enemies will not abide. Meanwhile, Mori's pride is hurt when his oldest son is ashamed of him, so he volunteers to take charge of building another free market town farther away from home...
Episode 9: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 9
Saburo (as Nobunaga) introduces Christmas to the Oda clan, and they have a joyous celebration after a lucky break saves them all. However, the fun doesn't last long when the warrior monks of Enryaku-ji start causing trouble. The real Oda Nobunaga and Hideyoshi are sent on a mission to negotiate with the monks, but things go very wrong...
Episode 10: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 10
The penultimate episode has Saburo (as Nobunaga) enjoying success like never before, but he isn't happy about the way his retainers helped him attain it. Meanwhile, Saburo's closest retainer learns of his deception, while an assassin enters the fold.
Episode 11: Nobunaga Concerto Episode 11
Saburo has promised Tsuneoki that he'll leave the castle and quit impersonating Nobunaga after the war with Azai is over. Saburo tries to arrange a truce with the Nagamasa, his would-be brother-in-law and the man he once called a friend, but Hideyoshi's treachery undermines the peace process and leads to a final, bloody battle between the two forces.
